His Church considers him a Christian.

You certainly would not like it if I came along and called someone a
"Pseudo-Jew" if they were Jewish by Jewish Law.

This has always been a Christian defence and the excuse that Christian
apologists make for Christians, they simply aren't "real" Christians. It
is a lame excuse and it takes away from their responsibility and
accountability for their actions.
