Jason Gastrich featured in "Good News Etc., San Diego County's Christian Newspaper" |
There's an article in the March issue entitled, "Local men develop Useful
Christian Internet sites".
The relevant part of the article is reproduced below (any typos/misspellings
are my own.)

We all have different ways to de-stress. Jason Gastrich started a Bible
Search website. He was only 23 at the time, when Bruce Wilkinson visited
Shadow Mountain Community Church, challenging the congregation to pray
the "Prayer of Jabez" for 30 days, years before the popular book came out.
During those 30 days of prayer, Gastrich feld led to start an Internet
ministry.
Gastrich said that he was having some personal problems at the time, and
working on the website kept him occupied. "I could work as late as I
wanted", he explained.
Today, seven years later, his site comprises over 60,000 websites. 25,000
people receive his devotionals daily. The name of the site is "Jesus Christ
Saves Ministries".
"I don't advertise. The site is known by word of mouth", Gastrich said.
The website includes several Bible versions in many languages, commentaries,
search engines, sermons, a forum, and a great number of resources. There is
also an international page where Christians from all over the world explain
what it is like to be Christian in their countries.
Gastrich is especially committed in the area of Christian apologetics. He has
participated in several debades with atheists and is a regular lecturer at
the Missions, Apologetics, and Creation Bible Conference in San Diego.
Holding a Master's degree in Biblical Studies and a degree in psychology,
Gastrich manages the site pretty much single-handedly, although he has
several mentors who provide support and guidance as needed.
Gastrich is also the author of a book on apologetics, "The Skeptics Annotated
Bible: Corrected and Explained", offering thousands of answers to Bible
difficulties and alleged contradictions, which he advertises on his site.
Among the best moments of his seven-year ministry, Gastrich remembers the
time when an atheist became a Christian and began to witness to other
atheists.
"There was also a gay man from Tennessee who left that lifestyle and turned
around to help others", he added.
Presently, Gastrich lives in Rancho Bernardo with his wife Sabrine and 2-year
old daughter. Besides his many commitments and studies, he also teaches
guitar to non-Christians as a witnessing tool.

Unfortunately, there's no mention of Gastrich's questionable use of the
domain-name talkorigin.org
The web-site for "Good News Etc...." can be reached at (you guessed it)

In our last episode <slrnd5gaeg.1c6.rmyers@localhost.localdomain>,
caerbannog pirouetted gracefully and with great fanfare proclaimed:
"I don't advertise. The site is known by word of mouth", Gastrich said.
Yeah. Riiiiight....
