Jaw-dropping stupidity |
I just saw the most amazing interview. Well, amazing?
Not sure if that's the right word...
Astounding?
Jonah Goldberg, a man whose stupidity can only be
compared to a "Fred Stone," wrote a book titled
"Liberal Fascism." Then, having neglected to take his
meds, the idiot appeared on "A Daily Show."
I'm typing this about 20 minutes past midnight, and the
video isn't online yet, but if you give it another eight to
12 hours you should be able to catch it all here:
http://www.thedailyshow.com
Wait a minute. I said it happened on "A Daily Show,"
yet the URL I just gave goes to "The Daily Show." Why
the difference?
Can you say, "Writers Strike?"
"The" Daily show can't air because the writers of "The"
Daily show are on strike. So, while the strike continues,
"A" Daily Show will air in it's place.
Anyhow, Jonah Goldberg, vistor from the planet
Uphisownsphincter, was interviewed on "A" Daily
Show, and the video should be appearing on the "The
Daily Show" website.
I don't believe I ever saw John Stewart edit an interview
before. This one was abruptly edited in several spots,
and, near the end, Stewarts even wonders aloud if they'll
be able to use any of the interview...
Stewart comes across fairly hostile from the begining,
judging from facial expression and tone, and after a few
short minutes Goldberg has you wondering why Stewart
isn't being more aggressive.
Check it out if you can. Scary stuff.

I too heard Goldberg, on the Laura Ingram show (don't ask). I'm
perfectly willing to listen to claims from the other side, because
it can be more interesting than just singing along with your own
choir and besides, they can't be wrong on EVERYTHING, can they?
Goldberg came close to it though. The only thing I could agree
with him on is that the term "fascism" has become an all-purpose
non-specific insult, basically another way of saying "poo-poo face".

The neo conservative propaganda handbook sez - if you can't deny it,
pretend everyone does it.
Yes. And by the way, are you aware that every American household --
every single one -- has in their basement a bathtub full of raspberry jello,
a clothes rack full of cheerleader costumes, two pogo sticks, a coin-operated
massage chair, and a live wombat?
It's true. Really. You must believe me on this one.
(and feather dusters. genuine ostrich)

Don;t involve the wombats in this. ;)

But the wombat's the one's who scores the...um, you know, the performance.
(two points off for that sloppy dismount)
