So. Weeks have past and the original Gannongate turmoil that
millions of gleeful Americans found so amusing is slowly drawing
to a close (well, maybe. America still hasn't received honest
answers about the scandal yet.)
Jeff Gannon a.k.a. James Guckert a.k.a. Who-knows-what was caught
impersonating a journalist when in actuality he is -- or was -- a
gay hooker in real life, and a long-time "friend" (nudge, nudge,
wink, wink, say no more) of Bush Administration Press Secretary
Scott McClellend.
Lacking any discernable press, reporter, or journalist
credibility or credentials of any kind, Gannon / Guckert / Elmer
/ Whatever was discovered as a Bush Administration plant by left-
leaning Internet bloggers at Americablog, quickly resulting in
not only the imposter being ejected (with much embarrassment at
being caught) from the White House but also resulting in the fake
reporter having all of his fake "news reports" and what not
scrubbed from the Internet by his former Republican masters.
How embarrassing! (And amusing to the good guys.)
Except that ole Gannon / Guckert / Elmer / Whatever apparently
feels that being exposed as a fraud and a hooker for the Bush
regime wasn't quite embarrassing enough. Now what's-his-name is
on the Internet trying to pretend he's a victim. (His previous
acting job as a reporter was pretty bad, yes, but his latest
acting job as a poor trod-upon victim is even worse.)
When it was reported that a real journalist for an Internet
blogging news source had finally managed to get a day pass to the
White House (after the Bush regime apparently felt they had better
allow someone else in who isn't a hooker to make it look like
what's-his-name wasn't given special Republican access) old
what's-his-name started rhetorically (and amusingly) demanding to
know whether this "colleague" of his would also have his "sexual
behavior" and "private life" exposed like, what's-his-name wants
to pretend, his was.
Sorry, rightard, but your actual profession is apparently that of
prostitution -- for the Bush regime or anybody with $200 dollars
an hour, apparently according to the documents uncovered so far
-- not journalism, so this actual Internet journalist isn't a
"colleague" of yours: he's a real journalist, not a hooker.
Second, his sexual orientation and your own are totally
irrelevant: he's a real journalist and you're not. That's what's
relevant. That's what this latest Bush scandal is all about, not
whether you or anybody else "smokes *****" or not. Nobody but
your fellow anti-homosexual Republicans care about such things.
You're not a journalist -- and thanks to the Internet and your
great exposure, you never will be (unless, of course, it's for a
gay man's magazine.) Now you're just another guy with a web
site, one that reads like it's a spoof Republican web site.
Finally, your "private life" was never exposed: your Republican
prostitution "escort" services as "top" was apparently a tax-free
business (unless, of course, you paid taxes on any income derived
from your "top" prostitution services. Did you? Or did you suck
at being a hooker (pun intended) so much you never actually made
any taxable income at it?)
In addition to lamenting how unfair it is that real journalists
don't get exposed all over the world like this, what-s-his-name
amusingly tries to play pretend he's, "So feared by the Left it
had to take me down" -- as if his getting caught and exposed
wasn't his own failing for running a gay "escort" service with
his naked photoghaphs on them on the Internet for all to see.
(And do we really want to read the words "take me down" from this
guy? Shudder.)
Of course the reason for playing pretend looks to me to be an
attempt to whip up ignorant rightards into sending him money to
-- as he says on his web site -- "Help me keep up the fight!"
(And if you send him $200, you'll apparently get him for an hour.
And if you're a really big spender, $1200 will apparently get
you a whole weekend, if the documents uncovered so far are any
indication as to his current prices. No telling what they are
now after having "had" the Bush regime's head ringleaders for
two whole years before getting caught.)
It's also amusing to see this rightard still calling himself a
"Washington correspondent" on his web site. I wonder if there
are any other Washington hookers that call themselves
"correspondents." Do they walk the streets at night, lean into
car windows and ask, "Hey, lover, are you looking for a
correspondent?")
And while we're talking about what's amusing about this latest
Bush scandal, another note on what's-his-name's web site reads,
"My faith and my ideology are rock solid." (And presumably rock
hard, nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more.)
