Jerry Falwell says he has had it with "left-wing thugs."
The Christian right leader said he is tired of being accused by civil
liberties groups of abusing his ministry's tax-exempt status just
because he has a few things to say about the direction of the country.

What a hypocrite. Isn't this the sleaze who told his sheeple that if
they didn't send him enough money to pay for major hospitalisation the
Lord would take him away? So they coughed up.
And the one who was caught playing hide the salami with prostitutes,
and cried that he had sinned, so they forgave him and he did it again?
What is _really_ wrong, is that his ignorant and gullible sheeple
repeat his slanders and falsehoods, imagining it's the truth because
the great con-man has convinced them

You really have to keep your religious whackos straight; the
first one was Oral Roberts, the second was Jimmy Swaggart.
Falwell is the one who said that pagans and abortionists and
feminists and gays and lesbians and the ACLU and People for
the American Way helped the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks happen.
And Pat Robertson is the one who uses donations to buy diamond mines.

I think that might have been Oral Roberts or Jimmy Swaggart (not sure which).

For this one, you're probably thinking of Jimmy Swaggert. I'm not as sure on
the medical bills thang, you might be right, but on the matter of the
prostitute, I know Swaggart did that - twice - and don't recall hearing it of
Jerry Fallwell. Fallwell's thing is pretty much limited to promoting hatred of
non-Christians and gays (Christian or not).

Yes, It was Oral Roberts. He wanted money for some special mission and if he
didn't raise enough God was going to "call him home". Someone coughed up
enough money at the eleventh hour to "save him", unfortunately.
