Judge denies a Christian his religious beliefs |
The web site http://www.hattiesburgamerican.com/ is reporting
(by Nikki Davis Maute on 20/Jan/06) that Christian Joseph Glenn
Jones was forced to yield blood as evidence in his rape and
impregnation of two girls, a 13-year-old and a 14-year-old.
The good Christian thought he could get away with it because he's
got Jesus on his side and because he's a Jehova Witness and has
the legal right to not yield blood -- which the Judge smacked down.
---
George W. Bush is a Christian. Get over it!

Agreed. But "playing the race card" isn't saying someone's criminal
actions should be excused because of their race, but rather that
they're being falsely accused because of it.

It's just an expression meaning that James is implying that the
accused was arrested not because the evidence shows he's guilty, but
because of his race. It's a common lawyer's trick here in the States
to try to get an acquittal by accusing the authorities of being
motivated by racism rather than actual evidence.
It's a tactic that often works for the simple reason that in some
cases, unfortunately, it's true.
