Now they've invited Kerry to their lair (said the spider to the fly) for a
little chat . . . What they really want to do is "Borg" him . . .

====================
FRC Invites John Kerry to Meet About Social Issues
During a speech to the NAACP in Philadelphia yesterday, Sen. John Kerry
(D-MA) said, "I will be a President who when he is invited into your home,
will always say yes." Today, I took Sen. Kerry up on his offer, and invited
him to a meeting at FRC's "home" in Washington, D.C. In a letter to the
Kerry Campaign this morning (which you can read at the link below), I wrote:
"On behalf of the millions of families represented by (FRC) I would like to
invite you to a roundtable discussion at FRC's Washington, DC 'home' to
discuss a number of issues on which you have proclaimed similar positions to
those we represent. You have proclaimed that you are adamantly against
same-sex marriage, as are we. You have proclaimed that you believe in stem
cell research and FRC, alongside Senator Sam Brownback, has been a leading
advocate for stem cell treatments that have shown great promise. In
addition, you have stated that you believe life begins at conception - a
view shared by the millions of families we represent." Of course, as any
political observer knows, Sen. Kerry voted against the Defense of Marriage
Act, he opposed the partial-birth abortion ban, and he favors embryonic stem
cell research - positions which directly contradict his stated personal
beliefs. It is our hope that a meeting with the Senator will help clear up
the differences between his recent public comments and his voting record.

Changes Still Needed in GOP Convention Line-Up
Over 125 conservative Congressmen have now signed a letter to President Bush
asking him to include a pro-life speaker at the Republican National
Convention in August. The letter being circulated on Capitol Hill by Rep.
Mike Pence (R-IN) has the signatures of more than half of the House
Republican Conference and includes several prominent committee chairmen as
well. Clearly, the exclusion of social conservatives is still causing
rumblings within the ranks in Washington and has the potential to trickle
down to the rank and file grassroots social conservatives who the White
House is expecting to show up on Election Day and cast a vote for President
Bush. While the President himself has a very good record on most social
issues and will no doubt mention them during his speech at Madison Square
Garden, it is the convention itself which showcases the Party and is
reflective of the Party's conviction and direction. And the current line-up
of speakers who have done more for the pro-abortion and pro-homosexual
agenda than the pro-life and pro-family agenda speaks volumes about the
"core" of the party. Surely the GOP's big tent has a little more room on the
right to accommodate more than one conservative speaker. To read Rep.
Pence's letter, click the link below.

Yet Again, Abstinence Is Proven Effective
The Centers for Disease Control has released a new study which indicates
that 53 percent of the overall decline in teen pregnancy between 1991 and
2001 is due to abstinence programs and 47 percent to improved contraceptive
use. Given the fact that contraceptive sex-ed programs receive about three
times as much funding as abstinence programs, the findings of this study
reveal that abstinence programs are far more effective than contraceptive
sex-ed programs. To get the same decrease in teen pregnancy, the government
has to spend three times as much on a contraceptive program as it does on
abstinence programs. In addition to being cost-effective, abstinence
programs also prepare young men and women for healthy relationships as
married adults while eliminating the risk of sexually transmitted diseases
at the same time. Abstinence is the true comprehensive sex-ed program. To

That report doesn't say what they say it says.
Odd, do they just assume their followers will blindly accept what they
say and not go read the article?

"...when all the noise quiets down, in that moment we should see our way clear
to allowing same-sex couples to marry for the same, selfish primitive reasons
that we do: to not be alone, to have a steady source of comfort in our lives,
to belong to someone who has promised to be there for us tomorrow and tomorrow
and tomorrow."
"After all, what else is marriage for?"

Nope. You're thinking of the FRI (Family Research *Institute*) which is
indeed just Cameron, his son, and possibly a secretary. The FR*C* is a
much larger group.

Are you trying to imply that both groups need to take some lumps? :)
