They've got Gay Marriage amendments on the Nov. 2 ballot in a bunch of
states; that'll be sure to bring out the conservatives in droves for sure .

11 States Prepare to Vote on Constitutional Amendments
Fearing the backlash of the Massachusetts same-sex "marriage" ruling and
stalled efforts at the national level, a grassroots movement across the
country to protect marriage has gained momentum. The work of both state
legislators and concerned citizens will now allow voters in 11 states this
fall the chance to voice their opinion in the historic debate to protect
marriage. The first two states to vote on a constitutional amendment
defining marriage as one man, one woman, will be Missouri and Louisiana;
with Missouri voting on August 3rd and Louisiana following on September
18th. Nine additional states, including Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi,
Arkansas, Oklahoma, Utah, Montana, Oregon and Michigan, will cast their vote
on November 2nd.
If you live in one of these states be sure to cast a vote in favor of
protecting marriage. Successful state constitutional amendment efforts will
take away the power of activist state judges to force same-sex "marriage" on
an unwilling public, as happened last November in Massachusetts. In
addition, several of the states that will be voting on amendments this fall
have Senators in Washington who voted against the marriage protection
amendment last week. If these Senators see their state's voters
overwhelmingly supporting constitutional amendments to shore up the
definition of marriage our chances of victory on the national amendment will
be much higher. To stay up-to-date with state efforts to protect marriage,
visit FRC's homepage via the link below. And be sure to mark these dates on
your calendar so you can go to the polls to VOTE.

We Need Pro-Family Voices in the Voting Booths
If my experience in Texas yesterday is a snapshot of the country at large,
then we should be greatly encouraged by the amount of support at the
grassroots level for traditional marriage. There were over 4,000 people in
attendance at Highpoint Church in Arlington, Texas, where I was privileged
to speak about the important role the Church must play if we are to prevail
in preserving the institution of marriage and our country. It is not enough
to complain about what is happening in the culture or just to talk about it
around our own kitchen tables. We must be willing to be salt and light in
our communities, our work places, our schools and, just as importantly, the
voting booth.
That's why FRC is proud to announce that we are joining the "I Vote Values"
campaign being spearheaded by Focus on the Family. This project has one goal
in mind: to increase the number of Christians entering the voting booths
across America. To find out more information on this project and how you can
get involved, click on the link below.

The Killing Fields
For far too long the government of Sudan has used its own troops as well as
armed militias to kill and enslave the people of southern Sudan. While it
has promised over and over again to make peace, it actually continues to
make war. Its main victims have been Christians, as well as Muslim sects
that reject the government's extremist practices. All told, thousands have
been killed and thousands more displaced. Due to a determined grassroots
effort led by evangelical Christians, the Congress and the President have
focused attention on Sudan. Yet, every time the government promises peace,
it or its allied militias make war. Sen. Sam Brownback (R-KS) has introduced
a resolution (S. Con. Res. 124) recognizing the situation in Sudan as
"genocide" and calling on the international community to take action in
accordance with its obligations under the Genocide Convention. We can only
hope action will be taken before the southern Sudanese are eliminated from
the face of the earth.
