.. . . a quick excerpt from the following:
" . . . a local group in the Kansas City area is actually sending spies to
church services in an attempt to catch pastors engaging in prohibited
political activities."
IMHO, it's not at all cool for group A to "spy" on group B. But hey, it's
been a tried and true practice for both religious conservatives AND law
enforcement on gay and lesbian groups for decades. When gays complained
about these spy tactics, the reply was, "Well, if you have nothing to hide,
then you should have nothing to worry about." So to these fxxxschmaltzes,
I give 'em the same answer. As the fortuneteller said when the crook got
robbed, "Turnabout is foreplay!"

Who is John Kerry? New Book Has the Answers
Our friends at the American Conservative Union (ACU) have just published a
new book, "Who Is John Kerry?" This book exposes Kerry's record on several
issues, including abortion, one of several issues on which Kerry seems to
talk one way and vote another. Recently Kerry said that he believes life
begins at conception, yet because that life is not yet (in his opinion) a
"human being," abortion is somehow permissible. As ACU's book points out,
Kerry's convoluted opinion led him to vote against bans on partial-birth
abortion no less than three times.
Additionally, one of the first major endorsements Kerry accepted - with no
shortage of fanfare - was from Planned Parenthood. You can't get much more
pro-abortion than Planned Parenthood, a group which has apparently decided
that making billions of dollars selling abortions isn't enough, so now
they're selling t-shirts that happily proclaim, "I had an abortion." If
Kerry truly believed that life begins at conception he wouldn't be so
excited to receive the endorsement of a group that profits from - and
crudely celebrates - abortion. And, if Kerry can't even vote to ban
partial-birth abortion, it will surely require a divine intervention for him
to someday recognize the personhood of the unborn. Abortion is just one of
many topics covered in ACU's new book, "Who Is John Kerry?" You can order
your copy at the link below.

NBC Guilty By Omission
NBC's "Dateline" hit an all-time low in reporting last night when it
"covered" the stem cell debate without even mentioning the successful,
ethical stem cell research from adult stem cells. More interested in touting
Ronnie Reagan's upcoming stint as an "unbiased" reporter, the show's
interviewer questioned the newly appointed "scientist," Reagan, about why
Catholics and Evangelicals were so closed minded in stopping the use of
embryos for research. The success of over 40 diseases responding positively
to the implantation of adult stem cells and zero successful embryonic cures
seemed a point too far for this "news" program. Next time they should
interview Michael Reagan who actually sits on the Alzheimer Foundation board
of directors and who defends his father's position of protecting life from
its inception. To read the personal story of Sara Rudolph, a FRC Witherspoon
Fellow who recovered from cancer after receiving adult stem cell treatments,

Spies in Church Pews: The New Strategy of the Left
Liberal groups are seeking to intimidate churches and pastors that take
stands on public policy issues. Americans United for Separation of Church
and State has filed 50 complaints in the past decade urging the IRS to deny
tax-exempt status to particular churches and ministries. Additionally, a
local group in the Kansas City area is actually sending spies to church
services in an attempt to catch pastors engaging in prohibited political
activities.
The spy campaign is targeted specifically at churches supporting traditional
marriage. Churches where Democratic politicians campaign in person - such as
the one in Ohio whose pastor introduced John Kerry yesterday as "a hero
among us" - are seldom the target of such attacks. IRS rules forbid churches
from endorsing candidates, but voter registration, voter education (such as
non-partisan candidate scorecards), and issue-oriented advocacy are all
permitted. Pro-family churches, pastors, and voters should not be
intimidated into remaining silent on issues like marriage and the defense of
unborn life by such scare tactics. For guidelines on political involvement
by churches, written by the Alliance Defense Fund, go to the link below.
