Just clearing up something that has been brought to my attention. Everyone
know my name is a reference to J.R.Ewing, don't they? You know....that
famous cliff hanger episode of "Dallas" called "Who shot J.R?" I wasn't
making reference to shooting Dubya Jr! Am I the only one with a working
knowledge of popular culture?

Someone didn't get it and let me know...and considering we live in a world
of fascism were people are arrested and imprisoned just for criticizing or
protesting Dubya, I'm not giving them a reason to kick down my door with

Yikes! For some reason that made me think of Beanie and Cecil.

LOL! I loved Dishonest John! :)

I couldn't stand Courageous Cat and Minute Mouse. Minute Mouse was
absolutely worthless! :)

Heh... two of my dogs have nicknames "Moose" and "Squirrel". I like
to
call them in from squirrel chasing with my best Russian accent.

LOL! Excellent! :)

Oh, yeah. :) My fist dog was a Cocker spaniel named Beanie
Boy. But do you remember Colonel Bleep?

Oh, wow! Thank you !!!!! This was the first cartoon I've ever watched
and
I've been wracking my brains for almost 40 years trying to remember what
it
was called!!!! I am forever in your debt :)

Cool! Always like helping to fill in the blanks. I even
remember Zero Zero Island, and Squeaky.

Seriously, I can't thank you enough! I've been going nuts for years over
that stupid cartoon. I remember it was on 5:30 in the morning! :)

Definitely beats Tennessee Tuxedo and Chumley :)

Who? ;)

I suppose you don't remember Sherman and Mr. Peabody either? :)

Oh, *them* I remember. And Natasha and Boris.

As well as Moose, Squirrel and Captain Peachfuzz :)

How about Rough and Ready, and Professor Gizmo?

Nope, sorry :)
Pixie, Dixie,

and Mr. Jinx?

I hate those Meeses to Pieces! Or something like that, anyway :)

My mother used to say that I was a bottomless pit of trivia.
This morning I realized that I not only know all the names of
the eight reindeer, and the seven drawfs, but all the names of
Bilbo Baggins' thirteen companions. I told my husband, and he
said "You're sick." ;)

Definitely beats Tennessee Tuxedo and Chumley :)

As well as Moose, Squirrel and Captain Peachfuzz :)

There was this really great musical comedy act in the SF Bay
Area called The Brass Band. They used to play at various fairs
and local venues, and one of their funniest bits was playing the
"Rocky" movie theme. Then it would sort of drift into the
cartoon theme, the tallest one would don moose antlers and yell
"And Bullwinkle!"--well, maybe you had to be there. :)

How about Rough and Ready, and Professor Gizmo?

Nope, sorry :)

That's the kitty! On the "Huckleberry Hound Show"? Also
remember Quick-draw McGraw and Baba-looey. :)

I still can't listen to Tchaikovsky's Russian Dance without
hearing "The one and only cereal that comes in the shape of
animals!" And don't even mention The 1812 Overture...

I used to work at a costume shop, and one time someone in the
area gave a "Come as Your Favorite Cartoon Character" party. It
was probably as much fun helping people choose their costumes as
actually going to the party. There was a really fat lady that
went as one of the ballet-dancing hippos from Fantasia, and we
had the usual assortment of superheroes, etc. One man was going
as Superman, but came in the day before the party with his leg
in a cast. He exchanged the costume for the Tarzan one and went
as George of the Jungle. He won first prize. :)

Maybe not *that* far back...

Heh. I remember watching old "Howdy Doody" re-runs during the 1970s on
one of the New York stations. "Mickey Mouse Club", too. (Although
Annette was never quite as hot as Marcia Brady, to my mind. Must have
been that bulky sweatshirt).
