with the Patriot Act? Or with any of the extraordinary powers Shrub
has asked for? There were some people who had a vague idea of doing
something bad and they were caught with normal police work. The guys
"aiming" at JFK could not have, despite the fear mongering claim,
have blown up the entire pipeline: that is not how those things work.
*If* they ever had gotten some money and *if* they had ever gotten
some explosives and *if* they had gotten onto the property and *if*
they were not stopped, then they might have been able to make a big
explosion that would have hurt airport operations. Not a major threat
to life, not a major threat to the country. You have, yet again,
resorted to argumentum ad cartoonum because a written presentation of
the claim would have been laughable on the face of it.
If you care about real risk, real danger, how about:
