The US military wants to use Steven Rose's research in the war against
terror. He won't be heeding the call-up

The Guardian
By one of those strange coincidences that persuaded Arthur Koestler
there was more to life than normal science could explain, I had no
sooner started to type this column when my email beeped. "Request for
protocol," it said. The sender, a US army major, was politely seeking
advice on a technique we published a few years back involving a bit of
(I thought) innocent biochemistry - a method for studying the molecular
events involved in signalling between nerve cells. It seems the US army
now needs it for its biodefence programme.

Brown states about the three, "all... were more or less

Which is argumentum ad hominem and totally irrelevant, even if true.
(Gould wasn't any more Marxist than any other NYC kid being raised by
ex-Marxist parents in the 40s and 50s. Marxism was there - like dust
bunnies - and just as important.)
