Object: Just Walk Away
Dear agnostics and atheists,
This message is for all of you that know that your position is very weak.
All of you that know deep down there is a Creator because the evidence is
just too compelling for intelligent design.
Just walk away. Do what hundreds have done before you and leave this group
of scoffers. Do you ever wonder why some people you used to know have
suddenly disappeared? Are you tired of being associated with fools?
When you leave the hostile environment of alt.atheism, you can have the
chance to really consider what you believe. Face it. The feelings you've
been having about a Creator won't be confirmed here. They won't be
respected here. Heck, you won't be respected here.
Leaving alt.atheism to research your beliefs, search your heart, and even
consult some real and honest friends is wise. My prayers are with you.
Sincerely,
Jason Gastrich

Dear agnostics and atheists,

This message is for all of you that know that your position is very
weak.

That would be you then ?

All of you that know deep down there is a Creator because the
evidence is just too compelling for intelligent design.

So now you're flogging ID ?

Just walk away. Do what hundreds have done before you and leave this
group of scoffers.

Your evidence for this is ...... ?

Do you ever wonder why some people you used to
know have suddenly disappeared?

The Black helicopters ?

Are you tired of being associated
with fools?

If replying too your post means associating with fools, so be it .....

When you leave the hostile environment of alt.atheism, you can have
the chance to really consider what you believe. Face it. The
feelings you've been having about a Creator won't be confirmed here.
They won't be respected here. Heck, you won't be respected here.

I wouldn't expect to if I carried on like you phoney Doctor.... you have no
idea what atheism really is....

Leaving alt.atheism to research your beliefs, search your heart, and
even consult some real and honest friends is wise. My prayers are
with you.

I did just that, guess what, all my friends are atheists too ! Stick your
prayers where the sun don't shine ....

Sincerely,
Jason Gastrich

Well, he prayed for me and I did not convert but I did go away for

sometimes aa is just too much to deal with. When I am not able to put

The list has been around for quite some time and has been added to in
ascending order, so those at the top of the list are the oldest, of
course. Since the list is rather old, it's more likely that those at the
top of the list aren't posting, for whatever reason, any longer. It seems
to me that the older the name, the more likely they are not to be around.
It wouldn't surprise me if Jason wanted to represent that as something
other than the normal rotation of personalities into and out of Usenet.
Jason is nothing if not a propagandist.

That is what he's doing. The list started in 1997. About the end of
February from what I've seen in Google. So it's eight years old now. As
you point out, the ordinary "churn" of any newsgroup means a lot of the
early folks have moved on to other things.
At the same time, a surprising number of the first 300 (the first list)
are still here. Michelle (of course), Yang, Stoney, etc. More so, the
topic of being an "old timer" came up a while back and a surprising number
of people are still here who not only predate "the list" but where here
when the ng was *created in '91. Back when Gasbag was probably still in
High School and had no clue what a "Usenet" even was...

Fer 'ninstance, I've been reading the group since 1996, but very seldom post
and only asked Michelle for an AA number a year or two ago.
Oddly enough, recently, every time I drift away to other pursuits, some other
communications channel brings me a whiff of the stunning exploits of our dear

buffoonery he perpetrates today.

Corn granulations, Herr Doktor Jason.

I still say he'd make a good mascot.

I think that Tukla might have something to say about that.
He's already our official newsgroup mascot - even if he
did create the job himself. D'ya think Jason could argue
him out of the job? There'd be nothing left of him but a
pair of shoes. And, Tukla would probably have them
for dessert.

Well, if Tulka is the mascot, perhaps Jason would make an appropriate
"AntiMascot," even if he'd have to make do with two faces instead of
seven heads and ten horns....

Only if Tukla doesn't have him for dinner.

I think the title of the thread is appropriate for Jason.
Here is the UK there is a government sponsored advert running
on TV promoting education and adult learning. The short
ad depicts a man (similar one for women) who is thinking of
enrolling in evening classes to learn to read and write and learn
mathematics only that little gremlin inside him tells him to walk
away. In one scene he is enterning the college with the gremlin
clinging to his legs, "Education aint for us" he pleads "We will give
up after four weeks". "Just walk awayyyy"
He ignores his gremlin who ends up in a rubbish cart
when he proudly leaves with his certificate
Jason represents perfectly that little dwarf in a gremlin suit
on the side of ignorance very well.
Well Jason, I walked away from ignorance and blind superstition
a long time ago and I aint going back to it.
