Justice Dept. Defends Patriot Act Before Senate Hearings |
Since this law was enacted, no terrorist incident has occured here in
America. Decent people have nothing to fear; those here illegally or
engaging in subversive activities are the only targets. Congress should
pass this law without delay.

WASHINGTON, April 4 - On the eve of Senate hearings on the government's
power to fight terrorism, the Justice Department on Monday defended the
law passed after the Sept. 11 attacks as "an invaluable tool" and
released new data showing increased use of a particularly controversial
type of search warrant.

Other than those committed by the US Government against it's own people, of
course! The terrorists have already won, because every right that used to
make America unique and the type of place that was worth living in are being
destroyed one by one, and the actions of the US have made it hated worldwide
like no other country ever has been!

The freedom to read books without concern for the Government's paranoia over
which books I read.
The freedom to go shopping, without concern for the government's paranoia
over which products I buy.
The freedom to go on vacation, without having my ***** probed by Homeland
Security.
The freedom to buy a newspaper - one free of government sponsored
propoganda.
The Freedom to walk into a Mosque without fear of some redneck blowing my
head off, or shooting up the church.
The list goes on... ad infinitum ad nauseum.

What is it you'd like to read but can't?

You should leave your box cutter at home. Otherwise, all they are going
to do is search your bag and your shoes.
The freedom to buy a newspaper - one free of government sponsored
propoganda.
You could even start your own in this country. It may not be profitable
because most people like the "propoganda."
The Freedom to walk into a Mosque without fear of some redneck
blowing my
head off, or shooting up the church.
I doubt you want to go to a mosque, but if you did, the threat from a
redneck is nothing the government is doing.
The list goes on... ad infinitum ad nauseum.
Basically, you are saying, as a lefty collectivist, you are nervous
about checking out books on bomb building and buying the daily copy of
al Jazerra, buying a ton of ANFO and a rental truck and spending an
evening praying to Allah.
But alas, the government hasn't taken those rights away from you. You
lose again.

Sucker. All you have to do is stand on a street corner and tear pages of
Life Magazine into tiny pieces. ( Which gives an indication of the age.)

Bull *****.
History has shown that all people have something to fear when such acts are
enabled.
I wonder how much it has cost American business to follow the rules and from
lost sales because people refuse to comply with the stupidity.
