Nader Running, Neo-Commies Suicidal!
In what was the best news the Republicans have had in weeks, Ralph
Nader announced he was running for president as an independent.
Uh-oh...not good for the Democrats...and they know it. After it was
leaked that Nader was going to go 'Meet the Press' and announce he
would be running, DNC chairman Terry McAwful" McAuliffe was beside
himself. "I don't want Ralph Nader's legacy to be 8 years of George
Bush." McAuliffe also met with Nader trying to convince him not to run.
On Face the Nation yesterday morning, the disappointed DNC chairman
continued whining: "There are people all over the country wishing he
hadn't done it before. They remember the 2000 election, they remember
New Hampshire, they remember Florida, and the margins of victory
there." Of course, Nader got 97,488 votes in Florida, which George
Bush won by just 537 votes. Had Ralph Nader not been in the race, it's
almost certain that enough votes would have gone to Gore to win the
election.
It didn't stop there...New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson said Nader
was running out of "personal vanity because he has no movement, nobody
is backing him, the Greens aren't backing him, his friends urge him not
to do it....It's all about himself." No movement? The election is over
8 months away, Governor. I would say he has time to come up with a
movement.
The Republicans are playing this one right, saying they will win no
matter who is in the race. The Democrats know that Ralph Nader screwed
them out of the Presidency in 2000, and they're mad it might happen
again. Poor babies.
