THE best friend of tragic Rory Blackhall was so heartbroken by his murder
that she has only just been able to return to school.
Megan Hammersley was "ill with grief" when she found out her wee pal was
dead.
It was yesterday - two weeks after Rory went missing - before Megan was able
to face school again.
She and 11-year-old Rory had been inseparable before she moved schools in
the summer.
Megan's gran May Hammersley said: "She has been crying all the time. Megan
is slowly coming to terms with what has happened.
"Her dad told her that the man who killed Rory had been found and that he is
dead.

"Explaining something like that to a 10-year-old is not an easy thing to do,
but I think it has helped MeganMay said her grand-daughterwanted to pay her
own tribute to Rory.
She added: "I'm sure she will want to do something to remember Rory by.
"The pair were the best of friends. They sat next to each other in class and
played after school. So it's only normal that she'll miss him.
Problems "I have not spoken to her about it yet because I don't want her to
start crying again."
Rory was devastated when Megan moved from Meldrum Primary in Livingston,
West Lothian, to Harthill, Lanarkshire.
He was being bullied, there were problems at home and Megan leaving added to
his unhappiness.
Rory went missing after his mum Michelle, 41, dropped him off near his
school. His body was found three days later in woods less than a mile away.
He had been asphyxiated.
Yesterday, police were still searching the house of Rory's killer Simon
Harris.
The 37-year-old was found hanged in his home in Livingston on Sunday.
It has since been revealed that he was on bail for a string of sex offences
against young girls. He had failed to appear at a court hearing six days
earlier.
Police are looking into the possibility that Rory might have played truant
and ran into the woods and into Harris's clutches

Few things remotely upset me but your use of a tragedy such as this to
make trivial fun of non-believers by putting the word "Paganism" in the
subject line and pasting this story has.
I don't know if its possible but I suggest you delete this post before
someone from the families of those involved read it.

THE evil loner who murdered schoolboy Rory Blackhall had a sick interest in
witchcraft and black magic Simon Harris, 37, who hanged himself after
killing Rory, 11, even joined a coven close to his home.
He admitted his interest in the occult to relatives two years ago.
Last night, one family member told the Record: "He came to my house and told
me about joining a coven.
"I thought he was talking about white witchcraft - but unfortunately it
turned out to be the opposite."
The alarming details emerged as police probing Rory's murder continued a
detailed forensic search of Harris's house and garden in Camps Rigg,
Livingston, where police found his body on Sunday.
They are not seeking any other suspect and are in no doubt that Harris was
Rory's killer.

Last night, prosecutors said they were considering holding a fatal accident
inquiry into Rory's death, after a public outcry over the handling of the
case.
The youngster's body was discovered in a wood in the town three days after
he disappeared on his way to school on Thursday,August 18.
He had been dropped off close to his school, Meldrum Primary, by his mum,
Michelle.
Harris is understood to have had few friends and limited contact with his
relatives in recent years.'
Opposite But one family member last night confirmed the killer's occult
interests.
He said: "Simon appeared at my door one day completely out of the blue about
two and a half years ago.
"He told me and my wife he'd become involved with a coven which met just
outside Bathgate. At first, I thought he was talking about white witchcraft
but unfortunately it turned out to be the opposite.
"Getting involved in black magic was the last thing Simon needed. I told him
not to get involved in a coven but he had decided it was what he wanted to
do.
"When Simon mentioned the coven at first, I thought it was a lot of
nonsense. However, my wife was very concerned.
"Simon didn't say much more about it but he never said that much. Getting
Simon to tell you an in-depth story about anything was like pulling teeth."
Harris arrived unexpectedly at the relative's home around 18 months ago.
He started asking questions about his grandmother, Janet Douglas, who had
died aged 90 in 1996 at a nursing home in Kilwinning, Ayrshire.
The relative said: "This was to be the last time I saw Simon alive. He just
appeared at the door again, wanting information about his late gran Janet,
the mother of Simon's own mum Betty. I was surprised and told Simon he could
have just picked up the phone and asked.
"But that wasn't his way. It's only now, looking back, that you realise how
odd his behaviour was.
"This happened after Simon joined the coven but I don't know if there was a
link.
"She had died eight years before Simon began asking about her. Perhaps he
was trying to reach her beyond the grave."
The relative added: "Simon was always doing things at 100mph. The way Simon
thought, the way his mind worked, he was very susceptible to suggestion from
those he looked up to.
"He was especially open to the suggestions of those who would listen to what
he had to say."
The dead man's family have been shocked by revelations that Harris killed
Rory.
The family member said: "The person who did what was done in Livingston had
local knowledge.
"I don't want to believe that Simon was the killer but he was clearly in
Livingston at the time.
Notion "The family don't want anything to do with what's happened. They have
closed ranks and closed their eyes to what has appeared in the media."
He added: "Simon was very easily led, a bit of an oddball, and his family
couldn't understand him. Even his own mum, who is now in a nursing home,
couldn't understand him at times.
"But, deep down, I don't think he was evil."
Yesterday, the Record revealed paedophile Harris had ambitions to work with
children.
The relative said: "Simon went to college in both Cardiff and Newcastle. His
mum Betty was a really good children's nurse. Whether or not Simon got his
notion for working with kids from her, I don't know.
"I remember telling Simon he wasn't suited to working with children because
of the kind of person he was. That caused a bit of a row between us at the
time.
"I know Cardiff police questioned him about indecently assaulting a child,
because Simon told me all about it.
"He told me, 'The police say I did this and that to a wee boy in a public
toilet.' "Simon didn't say any more but he wasn't really one to say much."
It was revealed earlier this week that Harris had been arrested in Scotland
in connection with sex offences earlier this year.
He denied abusing three girls aged between two and 11 over seven years.
When he failed to turn up for a court appearance, a warrant was issued.
Meanwhile, staff at St John's Hospital in the town told police Harris had
turned up there dishevelled and confused.
He matched a description police put out of a man in a deerstalker they
wanted to interview in connection with Rory's murder.
But by the time they arrived at his house, Harris was dead

obsessions. I think that is sick.
One HAS to be mentally sick to follow primitive beliefs, especially when,
assuming the person has any intelligence at all, the facts show there are
thousands of them, all of course made up by man.
These loonies have many quasi insulting words for those that do not wish to be a
member of their clubs such as, Infidels, pagans, blasphemers etc., etc.,. It
makes them feel good.
