I sent my "Lee Strobel" post here just for laughs guys. I don't believe his
mathematics at all. After all, if the odds that Jesus fulfilled just 48 of
those prophecies is as high as Strobel claimed it was then why are atheists
and skeptics considered unreasonable to doubt it happened?
What is more likely? Let's say that the odds that the NT writers claimed
prophecy fulfillments that were fabricated or misunderstood is one in 100
billion then it would still be much more likely (much much much more
likely) that Jesus fulfilled all those prophecies.

No, I had to post a correction to the first post. I left a word out. Just
typing too fast, that's all.

Are you preaching "for" or "against" Jesus here? I can't tell.

Hi Elroy,
If the chances of a single person fulfilling just 48 of the some 300
prophecies of the Messiah in the OT is one chance in a trillion, trillion,
trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion,
trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion, (that is a 1 with 157 zeroes
following it) then why are skeptics and atheists considered unreasonable to
doubt Jesus really did it? Isn't it far more likely that the so-called
prophecy fulfillments claimed by Christians are made up, misinterpreted,
used out of context, and so on? If the chances that the prophecy fulfillment
claims were made up by the Christians was one chance in 100 billion (1 with
9 zeroes after it) isn't it therefore still far more likely that Jesus did
NOT fulfill those tremendous odds that Strobel claims? Why are we skeptics
considered unreasonable to doubt it happened if the odds of it happening
were as high as he claims?
I am a skeptic.

They're all because-I-sez-so odds anyway. Count your change whenever a fundie quotes numbers
or science at you.

That is why people are expected to post some of their own thoughts when
posting complete articles they didn't write. There was no way of
telling whether or not you're a Christian who thought that the article
was very persuasive.

What is more likely? Let's say that the odds that the NT writers claimed
prophecy fulfillments that were fabricated or misunderstood is one in 100

This assumes Jesus existed in the first place.
