Lesbian Girl Scout Leader French-Kisses 12-Year-Old Girl
A former Manchester, New Hampshire, Girl Scout leader has been given a
90-day suspended sentence for French kissing a 12-year-old girl at a
troop sleepover.
Mindy Lorenz, 19, pled guilty to a misdemeanor charge of endangering
the welfare of a minor, involving a February 18 incident at a Troop
2757 sleepover at St. John the Baptist Church parish hall, a spokesman
for the Swiftwater Council told the Union Ledger. The troop has 15
fourth-through sixth-grade girls as members.
The victimized girl told police that Lorenz French-kissed her when they
were in a dark, locked room. According to court documents, the kiss
lasted between 15 to 20 seconds and was interrupted only by another
person knocking on the door.
Lorenz admitted to police that she kissed the girl and told the child
about her own sexual experiences with other women.
Lorenz offered to "help" the girl if she wanted to experience a
sexual encounter with another female.
Lorenz's sentence was suspended for two years on the condition of
good behavior. During that time, she is not to have any unsupervised
contact with any child under 17 who is not related to her.
Lorenz, who resigned as a Girl Scout leader, has also been ordered into
counseling.
"The Girl Scouts say 'sexual orientation' doesn't matter and,
unlike the Boy Scouts, don't regard homosexuality as a moral
issue," said Robert Knight, Director of the Culture and Family
Institute. "Well, in this case, one poor 12-year-old has found that
it does matter. Parents should be alert that there are tragic
consequences to the Girl Scouts' Politically Correct policies."
A local police officer, Sgt. Lloyd Doughty, said, "The moment the
Girl Scouts were made aware of this they took the appropriate
action."
Missy Long, director of programs with the Girl Scouts Swiftwater
Council, said after the incident, "We're deeply concerned over the
report and are cooperating fully with the authorities. An official
investigation is underway to determine the facts. Because this is a
legal issue, the Girl Scouts cannot comment further other than to say
our first and foremost concern is always the health and safety of our
girls."
