But the important thing is that Iraq is free from Saddam's sadistic
tortures. And who wouldn't think that incidentally killing 100,000
Iraqi civilians is not a goot price for getting rid of a dictator that
killed 30,000 Iraqi civlians?

In a June "Urgent Report" to the FBI director from the Sacramento
field office, for example, a supervising special agent described
abuses such as "strangulation, beatings, placement of lit cigarettes
into the detainees' ear openings and unauthorized interrogations."
.....In June, for instance, an agent from the Washington field office
reported that an Abu Ghraib detainee was "cuffed" and placed into a
position the military called "The Scorpion" hold. Then, according to
what the prisoner told the FBI, he was doused with cold water, dropped
onto barbed wire, dragged by his feet and punched in the stomach.

....In June, for instance, an agent from the Washington field office

position the military called "The Scorpion" hold. Then, according to
what the prisoner told the FBI, he was doused with cold water,

No, I'll say something like:

What evidence do we have that these things actually took place (besides
what the prisoner told the FBI)?

Many of these were eyewitness reports by FBI agents, not to FBI agents.

What evidence do we have that these techniques were in fact authorized
by any superior officers?

The same eyewitnesses who reported this behavior also reported Bush's
executive order.
But the point, Fred, is that you don't seem to *want* to know whether these
things are true. They could be false but does it not give you pause that
suddenly America is being accused right and left of torture tactics, when
in the past, torture has been one of the few misdeeds we *weren't* accused
of? Fred, what if it *is* true? Don't you even *care*?
Your response to any such accusations is to find rationalizations, reasons
that the testimony *might not* be accurate. One would think that you would
want to find actual evidence that the testimony is inaccurate to confirm
your belief, but instead you are content with finding possible ways that
our government could conceivably be innocent. Why is this?

into the detainees' ear openings and unauthorized interrogations."

....In June, for instance, an agent from the Washington field office
reported that an Abu Ghraib detainee was "cuffed" and placed into a
position the military called "The Scorpion" hold. Then, according to
what the prisoner told the FBI, he was doused with cold water, dropped
onto barbed wire, dragged by his feet and punched in the stomach.

Fred will say something like "You're equivocating over the word Urgent!", or

How about "the lit cigarettes they stuffed in the detainees' ears were
smokeless"?

Since we have yet to establish that "The US" actually *tortured*
anybody, I'd say that's a reasonable statement.

LOL, naive to the end, aren'tcha Freddy boy.

Fred and his Ilk don't consider 'techniques' such as waterboarding to
be "torture".
For those not in the know, waterboarding involves tying a victim to a
long board and balancing them 1/2 over a tank of water... then lifting
their feet so their head goes under water. Everytime they come UP,
you ask a question... wrong answer or no answer and you go back under
longer.
The US GOVERNMENT approves of this because "we have no intention of
harming the prisoner". Imagine yourself in the victim's place and
tell us you're not being terrorized or tortured.

But the important thing is that Iraq is free from Saddam's
sadistic tortures. And who wouldn't think that incidentally
killing 100,000 Iraqi civilians is not a goot price for getting
rid of a dictator that killed 30,000 Iraqi civlians?

In a June "Urgent Report" to the FBI director from the Sacramento
field office, for example, a supervising special agent described
abuses such as "strangulation, beatings, placement of lit
cigarettes into the detainees' ear openings and unauthorized
interrogations."

....In June, for instance, an agent from the Washington field
office reported that an Abu Ghraib detainee was "cuffed" and
placed into a position the military called "The Scorpion" hold.
Then, according to what the prisoner told the FBI, he was doused
with cold water, dropped onto barbed wire, dragged by his feet and
punched in the stomach.

Fred will say something like "You're equivocating over the word
Urgent!", or "Cold water ain't nothin!", or "It's your funeral!"
Besides, everyone knows the FBI is just a bunch of leftist stooges.

Or "Compared to 9-11 that's a day at the playground."

No, of course not, Captain America, Uncle Sam, Mighty Mouse, and the

No way did I want to see anyone hurt. They were people, lost souls,
climbing their towers to god. Albeit they were headed in the wrong
direction. There for the grace of God go I... The most surprising
thing to me is who's behind it. Bush I trained Osama, Bush II used
him. Bush has made the permanent, fatal error for your Land.
I saw the poetry of the hit. Like the escape of air from a punctured
plastic basketball; America leaking energy, never to be the same
again. The turning point already passed.
A time for your education. But still you hang onto your old murderous
ways.
How then to stop you? I'm just a chronicler, greater minds than I,
with greater power and resources ponder this very question.
If America wins its wars it will be because there are only Americans
left. Given they represent only 4% of the population, this is highly
unlikely.
