Leftist Dan Rather's Days Are Numbered
He's 72 years old, his nightly newscast has been stuck in last place,
rumors are flying that he's on the way out, and his blatant leftist
bias is increasingly under attack. But Dan Rather is fighting to keep
his job.
"Rather's newscast is not just third, but a distant third," the New
York Times reported today. The week of Nov. 17, for example, his show
on CBS drew an average of 8.1 million viewers a night, compared to 11
million for NBC's Tom Brokaw and 10.5 million for ABC's Peter Jennings.
Rather, eight years older than Walter Cronkite was when he retired and
nine years older than Brokaw, knows that the phone call he has
nightmares about, the one telling him it's time to move on, "could
well come next year, several people inside the network" told the Times.
"In the meantime, Rather continues to work tirelessly to stave off the
inevitable changing of the guard among the network news anchors."
Staving it off includes barnstorming around the country trying to buck
up his show's ratings and, the Times suggests, "campaigning just to
anchor another day."
Andrew Heyward, the president of CBS News, will decide when this
graying head will roll. "I have no illusions," Rather said. "The second
he thinks there's somebody who can do it better, I'll be out of there,
and I ought to be."

Left-wing liberals are EVERYTHING they accuse the right of being. They
are mean, vicious, hateful, greedy, cold-hearted, closed-minded,
selfish, intolerant, bigoted and racist.
