Liberals just love to portray success as nothing more than "luck."
This idea of success=luck is essential to liberal dogma. Individual
excellence and hard work must not be recognized. Emory University's
Arthur Kellerman, an infamous leftist, writes in a column today about
"those fortunate enough to have health insurance." There you go.
It's not hard work. It's not good decision management. It's all
about luck.

Actually, I *am* a middle leaning Consrevative, except where *JACOBS* is
concerned. He's a putz who doesn't *listen* to anything anyone who doesn't
march in lock-step with him has to say. Since I don't like Kerry, I *must*
suppoert Bush, right? Since I speak conservtively, I *must* support Bush,
right? I've tried to reason with him, doesn't work, I've tried to appeal
to he Human Decency, he doesn't appear to have any. I've tried to extend a
hand in truce, he bit it. He is a useless waste who adds *nothing* to this
newsgroup. When he retires I will go back to moderacy (with a Conservative
edge, of course). I *really* wish the Dems had picked someone other than
Kerry. I am from Massachusetts, and he doesn't do an awful lot as our
Senator; what will he (or WON'T he) do as our President?

I'm not wild about Kerry either, but I've seen both the national debt and
the unemployment rate soar under Bush and I just don't think four more years
of that would be a good thing for anyone, liberal or conservative. Of
course, there's no guarantee those jobs will come back under Kerry, or even
that more won't be lost, but I don't think Bush's version of "Reaganomics"
is working. But then, Reagan's version didn't work either. :-)

Not necessarily. But some people can only see things in black and white. If
you lean towards the conservative side, you must be a Bush supporter. If
you're more on the left side of the fence, you must like Kerry. Personally,
I don't think either of them is presidential material. But then, as I've
said before, presidential elections more often than not come down to
choosing the lesser of two evils, so why should this time around be any
different? :-)

I know. He talks a good game, but so far I haven't heard him say much of
anything about just how he intends to go about implementing these sweeping
changes he talks about. To be honest, I think a lot of them would (or could)
be good things if he could pull them off, but to me he sounds like a man
with big ideas, but with no real plan to speak of.

OH and by the way, on Sept 25th, Jacobs posted a statement that "Duh.
They've already traced the memo back to a close personal friend of Karl
Rove." I ask him again and again for proof, and he just gives me a
***** reply, snips out the *lie* he made, and now denies even posting
it. My server still has the 25 Sept available; if I find it I'll post it
again. So now Jacobs says I have a "reading problem." Perhaps I do: *LIES*
so up rather vividly in my vision...

If you are a fellow American patriot and lover of the First Amendment, then
by these presents greetings. It is good that you seek rational and
democratic discussion of the great and urgent issues facing our nation.
Unfortunately, I think you've come to the wrong place. See the bottom of
this post for additional evidence--but this entire enormous thread is
dedicated to the display of the freshest original parts of such disruptive
anti-democratic tripe. With the witless assistance of the Bushevik trolls,
it only took a short time to build this "tower of babble".
Especially if you remember the old days of rational discussion in the
newsgroups, this triumph of noise over signal may sadden you. Hyde Park of
the world and cheap advertising are all that remain.
However, there are still alternatives. For example, there are many moderated
forums on the Internet where civil discussions and real conversations can be
found. Even better if you can build bridges to real people in the physical
world. For example, you could treat a rational RINO to a movie--like
Fahrenheit 9/11. Lots of good books still being published, or you could
write a letter to the editor for your local paper--you'll reach more real
people and have more impact than here. Or you could donate to the political
campaigns--I confess I've already made six donations. Just remember that big
money is harming democracy, that BushCo has more money than anyone, and that
if money alone decides elections then the American republic is already dead.
Last, but MOST important: VOTE! Your nation needs you NOW!
On the other hand, if you are a Bushevik troll, then in the immortal
floor-of-the-Senate words of the unloved ***** Cheney: "Go ***** yourself."
That mentality goes a long way towards explaining blather like this:
