Liberals, Just Say it: "RAISE TAXES!!!"
I heard this little exchange on Hannity & Colmes last night. Alan
Colmes was interviewing Zell Miller. The subject was taxes when this
exchange took place:
Miller: "Gephardt says let's have a trillion dollar tax increase."
Colmes: "Don't give the cuts, that's what he's saying."
Earth to Alan. The cuts have already been given. They are now law.
They are part of the Internal Revenue Code. It's too late not to give
the tax cuts. They're already in place. The evil, wretched, hated
rich already
have that money in their pockets and they're already spending it.
The left has to give up on this "stop the tax cuts" nonsense. If they
want to raise taxes on the most productive Americans then they should
have the guts to get out there and say so. No more of this "get rid
of the tax cuts" nonsense. Say what you think. You want to raise
taxes.
This is yet another illustration of why liberals wither when faced
with factual and logical debate. You can only look like a complete
fool when you refuse to call a tax increase a tax increase. Drop the
phony rhetoric and say what you mean, Alan.

In case you haven't noticed, they have. Recently they've been pretty good about
attacking Bush on his massive spending increases...increases so monstrous that
he makes Carter seem like a Goldwater-conservative.

Actually, in retrospect, Goldwater looks more and more like a Carter
liberal, especially in his later years.

Actually, in retrospect, Goldwater looks more and more like a Carter
liberal, especially in his later years.
I disagree with that. It was not Goldwater's opinions and positions which
changed...it was that of his Party. When the GOP assimilated in the Dixiecrats
in the 60s and 70s it introduced a new and diametrically contradictory ideology
into the Republican Party...one which embraced the white-supremacist,
Christian-supremacist, neo-Confederatist, big-government totalitarianism of the
authoritarian South.
Goldwater didn't change. What is perceived as "conservative" changed. It is no
longer the small-government isolationist libertarianism of Goldwater. It is now
the big-government interventionist hypocritical totalitarianism of Gingrich,
Nunn and Bush.

Somebody will have to raise the hell out of taxes sooner or later. If Bush
loses the election it will be sooner, since that's what daddy did after he
got his ***** kicked in 1992. Your boy Dubya has turned Halliburton into the
biggest welfare mother on the planet. In fact, Bush has created a whole
stable of corporate welfare queens that will now have to be fed every few
years with new phony "wars" that will increasingly have no purpose except to
keep the Republican party afloat through campaign contributions from people
who need the lucrative contracts that only a nice, bloody, prolonged war can
produce. That's why Bush doesn't give a damn about the casualties in Iraq.
His buddies are making a mint and the Republican party is alive for another
decade and that was the only concern. This will nessesitate lots of tax
increases, but that's not his problem. He's not there for us, except when
the camera is on.
In the future, I expect the pre-war claims to become more hysterical, more
outlandish and the intolerance towards dissent to become more profound with
every new "war" the Republicans now must wage to stay alive. The Republicans
are now The War Party. Without massive military action on a regular basis
they die. That's Reagans legacy. If there's no actual threat, they have to
make one up.

Amen brother. Also, I take exception with his statement, tax the most
productive citizens, the rich. The most productive citizens are line
workers in factories, constructions workers that builds your home,
even ditch diggers are rather productive. Get off your high horse,
rich people. Many non-business owners, non-college graduates are way
more productive than rich people, especially versus the money they
get. Rich build their empires on the back of productive poor people
that make a fraction of what the rich make. Also, many rich just
inherit their money, they don't work for it. and that was one of the
tax cuts, inheritance tax cuts. How productive are the hilton sisters.
Well, it depends on what you mean by production. So STFU, conservative
rich pricks and dig deep in your greedy pockets, yes RAISE TAXES on
the rich, absolutely. I make very little money and i'm still not
greedy enough to whine about a 5% raise in taxes taken out of my
income check if it happened and I guarantee that 5% of my income means
more to me then 5% of a rich persons income. That is the difference,
greedy or not greedy. It is as simple as that.
