Mexico City, Mexico (AHN) - An ambitious and extremely educated
six-year-old boy is doing all he can to attain a college education,
including trying to get a court order to allow him to attend university.
Maximiliano Arellano, from Mexico City, is a child prodigy who according
to reports has already been has been studying medicine on his own.
According to news reports from he’s an expert in the fields of
osteoporosis, diabetes and anaemia and has been invited to speak in
congresses all over Mexico.
Despite his lofty ambitions and penchant for education Roberty Camacho,
the director of Mexico Medical State University, says he thinks the boy
is too young for university.
Not surprising the boy's mother, Alejandra de Noe, believes Maximiliano
could be a qualified doctor by the age of 13, is challenging his
decision.

I don't believe it in the slightest. No 6 year old is an "expert" in
osteoporosis et. al., no 6 year old is invited to speak to medical
congresses all over Mexico.

And he is right. No 6 year old can be expert in anything, no matter
how much of a genius he can be, there just isn't enough time. At best,
he's just parroting some factoids. Not only the depth of said
expertise is suspect, but before a college education, one needs some
reasonable breadth of knowledge as well as maturity.

I'd give up my legs to have brain like that kid.
One of the biggest wastes in my life was not being allowed to
jump *one* grade during elementary school. I knew the material,
but the administrators prevented it. Their excuse was "social
development" and "different age groups". They wouldn't admit
what it really was: their laziness and inflexibility.
