It's really amazing that catholics could possibly be dumb enough to

coverup in the church. It's going to be that much easier for catholics
to continue leaving the church in droves. Oh and the name he chose is a
riot. I'm not sure whether to call him Been-A-Dork, Been-A-***** or
Bene-Dickless, so I guess I'll have to use all three for him.
This is exactly the fodder that people needed to ridicule the church
into oblivion.

His Nazi-like emphasis on unquestioning obedience and ideological
orthodoxy isn't going to win the Church any new friends. He regards the
primary purpose of females to be the breeding of sprogs, just like the
Nazi BDM; American women will be delighted with this. And forget about
JP2's quest to unite the faiths against the common enemy, secularism.
This guy is ready for a crusade against the East to gain lebensraum for
the Church, and he's willing to tell those pesky Protestants and Jews
exactly how he feels about their "heretical" religions.
JP2, for all his ignorance and cant, put a happy face on the Papacy. It
looks like this guy is going to drop the facade and let loose in an
orgy of medievalism, which at this point can only weaken his cause and
the power of rightards throughout the world who have found common cause
with the Catholics in the culture wars.
Can we get a televised debate going with Rat-zinger and Ian Paisley?
That ought to be a blast.

The catholics don't elect him. The cardinals elect him and the pope(s) that
went before picked the cardinals. The people don't even got to pick their
priests.
