Looters are not running rampant in NO. |
Much to the chagrin of the atheist, there is no rampant looting in New Orleans.
There are clearly isolated incidences of shootings, rapes, etc. Many did what
they did for food. A few bad apples stole athletic shoes. Some were looking
for the next fix.
For a city devastate by a natural disaster, there have been significant calm is
the heavily-religious city of New Orleans.
And of course, that is to be expected for a people deeply rooted in their belief
in God.
And now that heavy aid is arriving, thanks to President Bush, rescue is coming
to a close and rebuilt will be starting shortly.
In fact, all the food is arriving as all the needy are being moved out. That
will likely give you atheists a good laugh.

That's a language? Acadians (from which the word "cajun" is derived),

No, but I had a question. According to Wikipedia, Cajun is more a
dialect than a language :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cajun#Language
You said that your native language is Cajun. Do you still understand
some French?
Just curious.

No, but I had a question. According to Wikipedia, Cajun is more a

Think of it more in comparative terms of "language of truth".
Truth is neither language nor dialect, but a presentation.

Not a word. Besides, cajun french is not the same as Paresian French, which is
more of pure French language..
Just curious.

Dear duke,
why would you think that atheist would be sad if there is no rampant
looting?
Any form of looting makes me sad.
If people are doing it for food,
I surely wouldn't hold it against them
but I would still be sad about the fact that they were hongy.
As for rescue coming to a close.
The last I heard was that president Bush was not satisfied
whith what was happening at all.
Not being a supporter of him,
I still share his feelings in this.
i am very surprised at you calling New Orleans heavily religious
Are you seriious?!?
I do hope your optimistic view is right,
but the news right now is still talking
about "robbers and rapist" running loose.
"They had no food for four days"
"We think it has been miserly handled"
"Much more will die"
Thats the news right now.
Think about it

Absolutely. Heavily Roman Catholic.

Having been raised as a Roman Catholic myself
I have some doubts about you calling roman Catholics heavily religious,
on the whole we seemed to rely to much on confession:)
Furthermore in the news they said the majority of the people is now
black
As far as I know that would make many of the Baptists.
So I did a little search on Google
I got:
Total population: 484.674
member of a regligious organization: 1990: 249.395 (51 %), 200: (43%)
members of the Roman Catholic church: 1990: 171.328 (35%) 200: (28%)
And yes the majority (67%) is "black or african american"
It must have been more that 15 years ago, you lost checked it out:)

Just for grins, what is a "member of a religious organization"?
Better yet, what about the other 1.5 million people that live in Kenner,
Metarie, Gretna, Chalmette, River Ridge, Harahan, Terrytown, Harvey, Marerro,
Arabie, and other towns that make up the greater New Orleans area.
It must have been more that 15 years ago, you lost checked it out:)

I had no data to inform me what that was made of.

I hope you find your friends. But I have no sympathy for those that received
all these good wishes from fellow atheists, but not so much as a kind word for

The federal government knew at least a day ahead that this was going to be
"the big one." Why weren't they ready to move in *immediately the way
they've done with other hurricanes? Particularly hurricanes that have
struck the state governed by the *brother* of the President?

That didn't make a lick of sense. But far as nobody having "good wishes"
for *you, that's because you provoke people because you *like being
attacked.

The news and the video is opposite what you are saying. The local stations
are saying the opposite of what you are saying. The Governor, the mayors,
the parish presidents, both Senators, and everybody else is saying the
opposite of what you're saying.
So sit back, relax, drink a beer, say a prayer for those not so fortunate

I am the caregiver for someone who is handicapped. You want I should leave
him alone in his house with no phone and no way to get to his medications?
You see, Dung, that's why *I have time to post. I can't leave the house
except to get medications and whatever food is available. To leave for an
extended period of time would leave a helpless, handicapped individual
alone in an area where the phones don't work half the time and the
hospital is so overloaded, the nurses and doctors are on the verge of
collapse.

Governor Blanco declared a state of emergency and requested federal help
on August 27th which was the Saturday before landfall.

"A State of Emergency has been issued for the State in order to support
the evacuations of the coastal areas in accordance with our State
Evacuation Plan and the remainder of the state to support the State
Special Needs and Sheltering Plan.
"Pursuant to 44 CFR § 206.35, I have determined that this incident is of
such severity and magnitude that effective response is beyond the
capabilities of the State and affected local governments, and that
supplementary Federal assistance is necessary to save lives, protect

Why they think they can rewrite history that's only a week old is beyond
