it indicates to me that when "congress" runs for elections "congress" won't
get re-elected. the problem is that "congress" doesnt run for elections your
congressman does. compare apples to apples, moron. cmon, don't let Rush do
all your thinking for you.

That the blackmail Bush has imposed on the American people cannot
be defeated so long as the democrats do not have enough seats to veto.

It indicates that things don't change: Congressional approval
ratings are typicall lower than the President's. For
exmaple, if you compare year-by-year Clinton vs. his Congresses:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Clinton_approval_rating.png

against:

http://bp2.blogger.com/_MRs_Nt465oE/Rm7ZtbZBk_I/AAAAAAAABZ0/cNiBApiglng/s1600-h/CongApprovalLATimes20070610.png

you will not find a point where Congressinal approval matches Clinton's
at that time.

Yeah, they probably won't even send Bush a bill letting hike the
debt limit by another $800 billion, like the preceding Congress
did. They're just not very cooperative that way.

Well, the anti-gay religious hypocritical republican portion seem to be
sucking a lot, that's certain. If they weren't anti-gay and

It indicates what a sheep you are for repeating this
conservative mantra. Clearly you've never given a
moment's thought to the difference between an
individual's approval rating and the rating applied to
a diverse group. For all you know, low congressional
approval ratings could trace to people's
dissatisfaction with unrelenting Republican support
for Bush's policies, or with GOP legislators' tsunamic
of sexual misconduct and hypocrisy.
It's one thing that the GOP spins out transparent,
easily demolished rebuttals. It's quite another that
so many people are, like you, stupid enough to fall
for them.

If so, it would be an accuarate mantra. Congressional job approval
ratings are just as poor for Congress as for the President. If you
look further into the ratings of R vs D, they pretty much average out
to about the same. II doubt most people care the President is one
person and Congress is a body. They both have a responsibility to
guide the country and they are BOTH doing a terrible job of it.

It indicates to me that the Republicans in Congress are dragging down
the approval ratings of Congress. After all, if you look at the most
recent approval ratings of *Democrats* in Congress, you'll see that
their approval ratings are *higher* than those of Bush:

And if you look at the most recent approval ratings of *Republicans*
in Congress, you'll see that their approval ratings are even *lower*
than those of Bush:

Actually if you look at all the polls in total you'd see the
Republicans rate about as well as the Dems. That's why the "Congress"
poll is a more accurate reflection of how people feel about the whole
of Congress.

A fairer question would have been to ask Bush, R's, and D's not
combine Bush and R's. The poll question is meaningless the way it was
asked.

Why? Isn't Putsch a Republican? And don't the Rs in Congress just
act as his rubber stamp?
If the Rs don't filibuster, doesn't Putsch veto?

Bush is the President, a separate branch of the government. Why

Well, you DID start this by comparing Congress' approval rating to
those of Putsch. And I note that Hillary isn't President.

If the Rs don't filibuster, doesn't Putsch veto?

Which has absolutely nothing to do with the way the question was
asked. It invited distorted results since it personalized one answer

Breaking it down by parties personalises it, but breaking it down by
institutions doesn't?
The poll makes the political truth you are tring to obscure plain.
People are fed up with Putsch, and they are disgusted with Congress
for faliing to stop him.
And they blame Republicans for it.

And I'm trying to get it through your thick head that the questions
*have* been asked separately. Of course, you actually would have had
to click your mouse once on each of the two links I posted in order to
find that out, and I suppose you couldn't be bothered to make such an
extraordinary effort. Fine -- I'll bring the specific quote out to
you.
Once again, see this link?
http://pollingreport.com/cong_dem.htm

From 09/27/07 thru 09/30/07, the following question was asked by ABC

News/Washington Post:
"Do you approve or disapprove of the way the Democrats in Congress are
doing their job?"
Result? 38% approval
Now, see this link?
http://pollingreport.com/cong_rep.htm

From 09/27/07 thru 09/30/07, the following question was asked by ABC

News/Washington Post:
"Do you approve or disapprove of the way the Republicans Congress are
doing their job?"
Result? 29%
Note that this question was asked *solely* about the Republicans in
Congress.
Finally, see this link?

From 10/01/07 thru 10/03/07, the following question was asked by

Associated Press/Ipsos:
http://pollingreport.com/BushJob1.htm
"Overall, do you approve, disapprove or have mixed feelings about the
way George W. Bush is handling his job as president?"
Result? 31%
Note that this question was asked *solely* about the President.
Let's summarize:
1) The questions *have* been asked, respectively, about Congressional
Democrats, Congressional Republicans, and President Bush.
Respectively. Separately. As in, *not* tying President Bush together
with the Congressional Republicans. Do you *finally* get it?
2) Congressional Democrats are polling *higher* than President Bush.
3) Congressional Republicans are polling *lower* than President Bush.
Any more questions?

A fairer question would have been to ask Bush, R's, and D's not
combine Bush and R's. The poll question is meaningless the way it was
asked.

Yes, that would be handy. I wish some pollster had asked those
questions, so that I could link to them.

Oh, wait! Pollsters *did* ask just those questions! And I *did* link
to them! And you even responded to the post in which I did so.

Once again, let us revisit ...

The most recent approval ratings of *Democrats* in Congress show that
their approval ratings are *higher* than those of Bush:
http://pollingreport.com/cong_dem.htm

The most recent approval ratings of *Republicans* in Congress show
that
their approval ratings are *lower* than those of Bush:
http://pollingreport.com/cong_rep.htm

I was referring to the specific quotation. It's a biased poll that
asks the question: "Who deserves the blame, the Democrats in Congress
or Bush AND the Republicans in Congress"? If they don't ask Dems,
Reps, President separately, they are distorting the results.

Oh, please. When was the last time you saw the Republicans in
Congress oppose Putsch on anything?

And Congresses job approval ratings that are lower than Bush's would
indicate *what* to you?

http://www.pollingreport.com/CongJob.htm

It indicates to me that the Republicans in Congress are dragging down
the approval ratings of Congress.

Haahaahaahaahaa. It's didn't drop that far down until infested with 'rats.

Yes, but only because of Bush and the Republicans, as the poll shows. Bush
is practically handing the 2008 election to the Democrats. You can thank
him in 2009 when you start complaining about President Hillary.
