Luther got it right! |
Reason must be deluded, blinded, and destroyed.
Faith must trample underfoot all reason, sense, and understanding, and
whatever it sees must be put out of sight and ... know nothing but the
word of God.
To be a Christian, you must pluck out the eye of reason.
Whoever wants to be a Christian should tear the eyes out of his
Reason.

Therein you will learn that forks bend much easier when they are

perspective. Knowing that you can now skip classes and concentrate on
dating the other students.

I took that last year. This year, I enrolled in Fork Bending 101.
Therein you will learn that forks bend much easier when they are

Maybe I'm just missing something here, but that sounds like blasphemy

I'm sorry but I am at disadvantage here. It seems I have temporarily
misplaced by copies here at the house and the JSTOR website is by

I think that the Canaanites adopted Astoreth and amalgamated her into
Astarte. Ashera also seems to be the same goddess, and some scholars
think Isis is also the same. But whomever she is, she will still slap
Zeus silly, real or not.

Maybe I'm just missing something here, but that sounds like
blasphemy
to me. Didn't Jesus say something that's entirely opposite?
Clearly you don't understand the bible... ;)
Thank God.
Thank you, Minerva!
Thank you Athena. (I'm old school.)
Get with it man!
Zeus told me peronally that Athena is, like, so "last eon".
Ashera is going to slap Zeus silly. Or is that Astarte? I keep
forgetting. But then so to did the early Canaanites who belonged to
them.
Didn't Solomon call her Astoreth, or something?
Yup and even worshiped her.
I'd like to see that in Ugarit cuneiform, if I may!
(With Photo ID, if possible)
I'm sorry but I am at disadvantage here. It seems I have temporarily
misplaced by copies here at the house and the JSTOR website is by
perscription, er, subscription only and I haven't yet bothered to put
my name on yet another Internet list. Big Brother is strong and
growing in the US.
And "Ashera" is the ancient Canaanite goddess of Amway and Tupperware.
I'm pretty sure that they were two different non-existent entities!
Next you will be dissing the Easter Bunny. Watch out! My sweetie has a
company that makes gourmet chocolates, gift baskets, etc and does a lot
of business at Easter Bunny time. You're getting into a sensitive
issue here. [Sorry I just had to practice my Fundamentalise and offer
a reply to a strawman that didn't exist in your post.]

Hey look, I agree.
"Ashera" (sounds like a pop singer's name, eh?) is yer workin' class
goddess.
Responsible for doing the housework.
Whereas Zeus on the other hand is a monumentally lazy over-sexed
letcher, like most males.

Old Zeus putting his own daughter down? Did she tell Hera that he was

That is thunder god and war god. His brother Azazel was the desert god
whom Yahweh insisted his constituents offer like sacrifices.
Unfortunately translators mistranslated the god Azazel into 'scapegoat'
thus obfuscating the intent of that passage.

Azazel was Yaweh's pet goat?

Nope. His brother as was Baal, Beelzebub and Satan. Or at least that
is what the bible says. Later some of them were demoted to angels.
The confusion sets in where the council of god/gods was wrongly
translated as messenger/angel or in some cases, judges.
