Man slays four daughters in 'honour killing' |
We have daily proof that Islam is a religion for lunatics, not only is
this condoned under Islamic law but this guy will be going to their
version of heaven despite his heinous crime and his place there is
probably guaranteed because of it. Needless to say this is a just a
tiny sampling of what goes on in Muslim countries.
It follows that Muslim heaven would be everyone elses hell - it's full
of Muslims.

Man slays four daughters in 'honour killing'
December 25, 2005
A man allegedly killed his four daughters today by slitting their
throats while they slept in their home in eastern Pakistan, after the
eldest married a man of her choice, police said.
"The man came to a police station ... after killing his four
daughters," said senior police officer Mukhtar Iqbal Tikka.
Nazeer Ahmed, who worked as a labourer near Burewala, some 110
kilometres east of Multan, had resented his eldest daughter's love
marriage and killed the three others, fearing they might follow her,
Tikka said.
Ahmed allegedly told police his eldest daughter Muqadas Bibi, 25, had
married a man of her choice against his wishes and her act had
tarnished the family's honour so he plotted to kill her and his other
daughters.
While she was asleep with her sisters Bano Bibi, 12, Sumera Bibi,
eight, and Humera, six, he allegedly cut their throats with a sharp
knife, Tikka said.
About 4,000 people, mostly women, have been killed in conservative
rural areas of Pakistan in recent years in the name of protecting
family honour.
Many others have been raped or burnt with acid under codes of tribal
justice.
President Pervez Musharraf early this year signed into law a bill
introducing the death penalty for honour killings.

What can be expected from the gutless left? The Norwegian government
apologises for cartoons originally published in a Danish paper, how's
that for sycophancy and dhimitude.
What can be expected from a religion that is so easily offended by
cartoons that the people who drew the had to go into hiding, death
threats were made against the newspaper publishers, and the Islamist
paedophile states are boycotting Danish and Norwegian products?

Only if non-Islamic nations 'should be angry' with those who
deliberately inflame tensions by lying propoganda which
shows Mohammed as a terrorist. It doesn't have to be illegal
to be stupid and inexcusable.
But if you want to continue to equate EVERYTHING which moderate
Islam believs in with that which only a small minority of
extremists believe.. if you want to drive moderate muslims away,
and into the arms of those who tell them you hate them.. then what
do you think you wiull achieve?
Already, we cannot hold the small corners of Afghanistan and Iraq
without Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Turn them ALL into enemies and see where you end up. B^p
Israel is an example of the UTTER FAILURE of Bush's
insane confrontational approach. By treating a MODERATE
such as al Mazin as someone who cannot be negotiated with,
they have encouraged Palestinians to decide that moderates
are innefective.. and vote for Hamas.
The USSA used to be sensible, and manipulate local elites
to deliver it global hegemony.. now they alienate entire
populations into bringing down moderate and amenable tools
and replace them with intransigant hardliners. B^p

A society is multicultural if it has more than one

Multiculturalism is two things, the -ISM indicates that it

a celebration of it.
But it is ALSO a set of government policies to

The irony in all this is that when Muslims overreact as they did in the
Rushdie affair, it guarantees what they're protesting about has a far
wider audience than it ever would have had.
Attempts at censorship always result in publicity for the thing being
objected to. Remember 'The Last Temptation of Christ?'
The whole incident does raise serious issues about both free speech and
what can be classed as genuinely taking the mickey out of a religious
icon.
Me, I'm always for free freedom of expression, no matter how offended
some people might be, but I also realise that it is a religious duty of
a Muslim to defend their religion when it is perceived to be under
attack. This is not something they have much room to manoeuvre with. An
insulting cartoon perceived to be attacking Islam can't be ignored by a
Muslim or they fail in their religious duty. We might object on the
grounds of free speech, but we also have to be prepared to accept that
there *will* be a reaction in cases of this kind. You still have to take
into account the consequences of your action, no matter how far you are
prepared to go to defend what you regard as a fundamental freedom.

Right. And what do you think is the appropriate action when a Muslim kills
because of his religion being laughed at. Consequences for whom?
Then that Muslim has to face the consequences of his action in a court
of law, just as any other citizen would. It's that simple.
Consequences for whom? Consequences for everyone concerned. When a storm
hits, there are consquences. When people take action over a matter like
this, there are consequences, which is not to say they are right or
wrong. We will all make up our own minds about that aspect. Read this
story:
http://www.news.com.au/story/0,10117,18035976-2,00.html
which refers to a NZ paper printing the cartoons. There will be
consequences - the newspaper's editor should now be watchful because his
life is probably in danger. The economy of NZ may suffer. Some of us
will take the view that in the interests of press freedom and freedom of
expression, he did the right thing. Others will say this is an
unnecessarily provocative action, knowing what the consequences are
going to be.
I am just stating the facts. I have already stated my view that some
freedoms are very important, but we have to be aware that in defending
them, we must be prepared to take the consequences of our action too. If
someone is holding a gun to your head and dares you to draw a cartoon of
Muhammad, would you weigh up the consequences and start drawing the
picture? Probably you would not. I surely wouldn't. Does this make me a
coward? I have to ask is it worth the sacrifice of my life to offend
this person who believes that his religion demands he blows me away for
doing it.
But not all Muslims are like this. Muslim activist Adem
Carroll writes:
"But surely there should be no compulsion or domination in religion.
The revolutionary spirit of this approach is really wrong in my view.
And until we take longer term and more respectful, inclusive
approaches, our community will continue to self-isolate and weaken.
The rhetoric may be sweet to some; but the Hizb and other killer bees
make poisonous honey."
The thing is, incidents like this bring out defensive reactions in all
Muslims, who are as I said before taught that they have a sacred duty to
defend Islam. Mahmood Mamdani ("Good Muslim, Bad Muslim") said during a
lecture in New York [I'm paraphrasing], "I said to my mother, 'I'm
Muslim when Muslims need to be defended from oppression.' A few months
after 9/11, she said to me, 'well you must be Muslim all the time now.'"
Many ordinary Australians could actually say the same things about
ourselves and Christianity - we may not be Christians but there is still
a reaction if it is under attack - like in Indonesia when Christians are
attacked in Sulawesi. Who does not feel resentful that Muslims can come
into a peaceful village and carry out such acts?
Reactions spring from deep and sometimes unconscious beliefs and
feelings. Muslims have them too. Don't forget that. Let's weigh up
consequences carefully, for ourselves and others, before we act, and ask
ourselves which are worth it and which aren't.

Yes, this the rational attitude. It is unfortunately the road to dhimmitude
when you use Western rationalism in the face of a Dark Age mentallity of
world-wide demand for conversion to their Dark Age reason for living. It's not
going to happen. We are going to have to fight and damn the consequences.
This the position we took in the second world war. It was a mistake, we fought
the wrong people but a decision was made and we got on with it.
We have to take consequences into account. Of course we do. We will lose
freedoms and economic progress for a while but ultimately come out free from the
stifling boring Age of the Mullahs...and some extra technology dealing with the
crisis... as usual.
Lots of people are going to die for a cause again...on both sides. But we
cannot afford to lose this one. The losers would be slaughtered anyway.

This sort of talk and the term dhimmitude is off the planet in these
situations. I know what you are referring to but it's not going to work
that way. There have been Muslims for 1500 years and right now they are
in an unusual part of the cycle which isn't going to last. You cannot
have a war against Muslims in any conventional sense because you can't
kill 1 200 000 000 people, and if you stupidly start a war against Islam
per se then that's what you are talking about, presumably with similar
losses on the other side. It's not like fighting Germany where only one
layer of people needed removing. It's also not like what you think of as
war, because there will be no regular armies to fight - just constant
harrassment from a guerilla enemy exactly as the US is facing in Iraq
today. You want that all over the world? That's insane. All we need to
do in our societies is to observe and defend the rule of law, and leave
religion out of the way that's done.
This the position we took in the second world war. It was a mistake, we

The Nazis were the wrong people? Get real. They and the Stalinists were
the mirror images of each other.

Adolescent talk, Stan, unless you mean what I am saying - to ensure our
own laws are observed.
Lots of people are going to die for a cause again...on both sides.
Only if it is handled as badly as the US is handling 'winning' the war
in Iraq. Which is way further away from victory than it was the day Bush
announced that 'we' had 'won'.
But we cannot afford to lose this one. The losers would be slaughtered
anyway.
In what you are contemplating, there would be no winners. None at all.
We will all be living in the same conditions that they are in Iraq when
the car bombings are on. Permanently.
it doesn't have to be that way, unless we are the ones doing the pushing
for it. Your approach and that of several others in this ng are
promoting an insane 'solution' to a problem that has many other more
sensible ones.

Stan is happy to stupidly provoke emnity.
He and the other Western Jihadists are as ignorant and as
dangerous as their Islamic fundie counterparts.
If only they could be put on an island together to
work out their crusader/caliphate fantasies and let
the rest of us, the vast minority of moderates from
all faiths and ethnic groups, to get on with constructing
a global civilization.
Unfortunately the ME model remains popular with Uber Patriots
and hate filled 'religious'. It only takes one bomb thrower,
and a peace process is jeopardised.
Moderates need to prepare strategies to stop fragmentation.
This means strengthening multicultural societies from mere
tolerance to deeper understanding and respect, and building
networks of mutual defence.
M. Scott Peck talks of the role of crisis in transforming
psuedo community 9polite but distant) into true community,
(these are my brothers and sisters).
Nothing less will enable our civilization to survive
the Asymmetric conflicts of the 21st Century.

Indeed, Stan and other Western Jihadists are the dopplegangers of
Islamic fundies.
And as is apparent, it is as difficult for us to deal
with our dangerous ratbags as it is for muslims, who are
not a monolithic organisation with the coercive powers of the state.
That is why protection under the LAW is a state matter, and the role
for cultural and religious groups is to exhort compliance with that
law, and discourage insult, inflammatory behaviour and provocation.

"There is a fundamental distinction between
multicultural and Multiculturalism, which racists
constantly and deliberately confuse.
A society is multicultural if it has more than one
culture being practised within that society.
'Multicultural - A society which embraces a number
of minority cultures' - Macquarie Dictionary
Multiculturalism is two things, the -ISM indicates that it
is a set of beliefs or ideas about multiculture,
ie a recognition of multicultural REALITY, an acceptance of it,
a celebration of it.
But it is ALSO a set of government policies to
formalize that recognition, acceptance and celebration!
Thus the Howard government has a Department which documents
the positive economic social and foreign policy benefits from
having a successful, open, democratic multicultural society."
- fasgnadh
"When Fasnag talks multiculturalism -> people living in
Australia have come from different cultures, and live
different lives that could be categorised into groups
if you chose to do so.
When I talk multiculturalism -> the formal policy at
a governmental level"
- Rev. Headjob, liar and thief
demonstrating the deliberate confusion.
