Maryland taxpayers may be forced to subsidize homosexual lifestyle |
http://www.onenewsnow.com/2007/06/maryland_taxpayers_may_be_forc.php
Pro-family activist Matt Barber is warning Maryland taxpayers that
they may soon be forced to support the homosexual lifestyle with their
pocketbooks. Barber, policy director for cultural issues for Concerned
Women for America, says Maryland appears on the fast track to becoming
the 15th state to grant domestic partner benefits to homosexual state
employees.
Affirming Barber's report, The Washington Blade, a homosexual advocacy
newspaper, reported that a Maryland state senator has told the
magazine that Gov. Martin O'Malley will support efforts to win
domestic partner benefits for homosexual employees in the next state
workers' union contract. Such a move by Maryland, says the activist,
will amount to another government body offering its endorsement of an
aberrant lifestyle.
"This is a threat to traditional marriage," Barber said, "because it's
just another notch, another step forward by the homosexual lobby, to
get official government recognition of their lifestyle."
He contends that domestic partner benefits devalue traditional
marriage much the same way introducing counterfeit money into commerce
devalues the dollar. "[When] you water down something enough,
eventually it becomes unrecognizable," he asserts, "and we have
counterfeit marriage here; we have the government subsidizing
counterfeit marriage."
While Massachusetts continues to be the lone state extending marriage
rights to homosexual couples, the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against
Defamation website commends other states -- including Hawaii, Maine,
New Jersey, California, Connecticut, New Mexico, Washington, and Iowa
-- which offer limited domestic partner benefits and protections.
"The homosexual lobby has done a masterful job of convincing people
that this is about discrimination," Barber said. "It is not. It is
about benefits being conferred upon those who enter into marriage,
which is beneficial to society. Homosexual relationships are not
beneficial to society; in fact ... the homosexual lifestyle is a very
dangerous lifestyle that oftentimes involves high medical costs."

I wonder if they have a problem with supporting the lifestyle of
srtaight couples that engage in oral sex? Or maybe they'd prefer to only
support couples who use the missionary position? I mean, if a woman were
on top of a man, would that need to be reviewed by taxpayers??

Let's just say, for the sake of argument, that you really like broccoli. You like how it
looks, all green and leafy, you like how it smells, and you like how it tastes. There's
nothing about broccoli you don't like. But, cauliflower is a different story. Sure,
Cauliflower looks a little like broccoli, but not a lot....and it kinda feels the same,
but not really, and it doesn't taste as good...you just don't like cauliflower. So should
you be sent to a group that helps you to learn how to like cauliflower better than
broccoli? Should there be church-and-government and privately-funded organizations working
to help those broccoli lovers who just don't like cauliflower?

No, I believe in giving credit where credit is due and certainly those
