Object: Maybe you should know
Fact is, from 1995 to 2005 the U.S. never had a year
with as few as 20 coal mining fatalities. There's
always been more. Mining, after all, is one of the
most dangerous jobs there is...
Contrary to what the "Fred Stones" of the world have
to say, the media's recent "Discovery" of coal mining
accidents is not the work of evil "Libruls." Just the
opposite. The media's recent discovery of coal mining
accidents serves a purpose.
Heck, coal prices rose 25%(*) just last year alone...
The administration began their handy work in California,
when they kicked the economy in the nuts with
artificially-created "rolling blackouts" that resulted in
a massive rate hike.
Next up was natural gas, and then all the stops came
off of gasoline profits...errr.... prices.
Coal, now, coal was selling for $23.59 a ton in the
United States, back in 2005, and that was only after
it had shot up more than 18% in price. This was after
it dropped all through the 1990s.
Anyhow, high energy profits...errr..."prices" are a goal
of the Bush administration, so expect the media to
notice any & all trajedy surrounding energy suppliers.
(*) Much of coal in America is produced under contract,
with prices locked-in at well below market rates.

I'm not disagreeing with anything above, just adding to it.
Bush being Bush, mine safety "czars" have been former mining
executives with profit values over safety values. Those guys hire
other former mining colleagues, cut safety inspector personnel and
drop safety programs. That scenario is not conducive to improving
miner's safety, and with less programs and inspectors, there is less
investigation and less knowedge.
No surprise to me about bush and the bushites, profits and perverse
principles are held above human life.

The results were predictable enough, even for Bush.
The knives are already being sharpened for Bush's
