McDonalds under fire over halal burgers |
I just wish some of these people could actually listen to themselves. Best
quote:-
'Coburg resident Miriam McLennan was stunned to discover the hamburger she
bought from the Brunswick East store was blessed.
"Just as a Muslim would not want to eat anything that isn't halal . . . I
should have my rights to eat normal, ordinary food that hasn't been
blessed," she said.'

What do you say, after reading this?
This part just made me think of what a Special Ed. Director told me one
time. She said, "David, draw a bell curve and mark the peak 90. Now draw a
vertical line through the middle of the curve, bisecting the peak. The curve
represents the IQ of the population. Ninety is the average IQ of a human.
Now, think about this. To the left is half of our population.
Half of the people have an IQ below 90.
I still shudder when I allow myself to actually accept what this
means...

She probably thinks the blessing has some nefarious effect and is an
attempt to convert her to Islam by magick... That said, in my
experience and blessings aside, halal / kosher meat does taste
different from the normal equivalent, at least as far as minced beef
goes. Can't tell the difference with things like lamb chops though.

I suppose that is a bit like asking what is Harry Potter's *real*

No, I stole the name of the infamous Bishop Samuel Wilberforce, of the
historic Huxley/Darwin "monkey" debate in 1860, both for alliterative
purposes, and for the obscure ecclesiastical faux pas connection.

"Jesus"??
No, I stole the name of the infamous Bishop Samuel Wilberforce, of the
historic Huxley/Darwin "monkey" debate in 1860, both for alliterative
purposes, and for the obscure ecclesiastical faux pas connection.
I sometimes wonder if it's worth the mental effort!
LOL! I didn't get it, but it's ALWAYS worth the effort ;)
Maybe I should be lazy and resort to fart gags?
You been hanging out with my husband? ;)

Give someone a 'blessed' hamburger and an 'unblessed' hamburger and see
if they can taste the difference. I'm sure that the cow wasn't so
thrilled about being 'blessed.'

I and a guy who had spent some time in the semenary frequently ended up
serving food while in Army basic training. We would frequently baptize
and/or forgive the sins of the people who came through our line. That was in
the good old days of Latin and few knew what we were doing. Didn't seem to
have any effect on them.

"***** doesn't just happen. there is always an *****-hole involved"
The meat wasn't "blessed". The cow was slaughtered in a cruel method,
in accordance with Muslim law.

Blessed, my *****. It's been "blessed" by having its head
lopped off and being shoved into a grinder.

I'll do an anti-blessing for $2.00 if she likes.
