Object: Media Watch uk gets in on the Gerry Springer the Opera bandwagon
Media Watch is the new name for the National Viewers and Listeners
Association that was started by the late and barely missed Mary
Whitehouse, their really really ugly website can be found at:
http://www.mediawatchuk.com
They are an unelected bunch of evangelical xstains who would very much
like to tell me what I can and cannot watch on my own television. I
mean, where do these fuckwits get off? I don't like Eastenders and my
license[1] money goes on that, do I complain? No, I just don't watch it.
But no, these people would like to ban anything *they* don't like using
the same argument.
To show how in touch John Beyer, the director of Media Watch, is, here's
his suggestion to Michael Grade, the director of the BBC, as to what the
BBC should replace the screening of Jerry Springer the Opera with:
Why not, for example, screen a seasonal pantomime, with well-known
and liked television and radio personalities, currently showing at
provincial theatres across the country?

As Billy Connolly said when he was a stand-up comedian before he
became famous: It's not her fault her name rhymes with toilet; if his
did he'd probably be the same.

There was a young lady from Strude,
who went for a swim in the nude.
As she rounded the lighthouse,
she saw Mary Whitehouse,
who said "Put some clothes on, that's rude!"

one.
