Medical & Social Studies
Many people say there is no evidence for God. They claim that God does
not exist and there is no scientific(observable, measureable or repeatable
data) that would lead an honest person to believe that God is. They claim
that Christians simply use the supernatural or miraculous(non-scientific)
to demonstrate the reality of God and this is unacceptable to them in
their finite thinking. They want real, hard, evidence that lines up with
reality. And reality to them is what they can see, taste, and feel for
themselves.
Christians claim that God is real, present and operating in their lives
everyday and in all circumstanses. The evidence for God is therefore
inferred just as the evidence of gravity, blackholes, and magnitism is
inferred by their effects. We cannot see these phenomenen except by their
effect.
Many studies have been undertaken in the medical and social sciences of
people who are non-believers compared to Christians. The results of these
studies(and I am not going to do your homework for you so don't ask for
the references. You can find them yourself with a search engine and that
way you cannot claim they are just a believer's imagination). These
studies show that Christians live longer on average, are more healthy
physically, are more stable mentally and much happier than non-believers.
They also have higher averaged incomes, make better investments and leave
more inheritance to their progeny. They are also better educated and
bring stability to the communities in which they live. They give more to
charities, are involved in more community and charitable efforts and pay
more taxes than the average person.
These are all inferrences of course but nevertheless they are scientific
because they can be observed, measured and repeated. Therefore these
studies represent hard evidence, based upon facts determined over time
carried out by real people.

Medical & Social Studies

Many people say there is no evidence for God.

Many people say there is no evidence for unicorns.

They claim that God does
not exist and there is no scientific(observable, measureable or repeatable
data) that would lead an honest person to believe that God is.

same with unicorns

They claim
that Christians simply use the supernatural or miraculous(non-scientific)
to demonstrate the reality of God and this is unacceptable to them in
their finite thinking.

miracles are unexplained events. Left up to christians, all things would be
unexplainable except by the divine knowledge imparted to the holy leaders of
the church.

They want real, hard, evidence that lines up with
reality. And reality to them is what they can see, taste, and feel for
themselves.

Thats where you are wrong, I believe in unicorns because I can imagine them.
Thats good enough wouldn't you say?

Christians claim that God is real, present and operating in their lives
everyday and in all circumstanses.

They have confused god with themselves, the part of themselves that seeks
and acts toward improving happiness and mitigating pain.

The evidence for God is therefore
inferred just as the evidence of gravity,

Gravity is not infeered it is proven, if you don't believe it, jump out of a
window, and on you way down, pray that god will change the laws of science.
I'll place my bet on science.

blackholes, and magnitism is
inferred by their effects.

And Harry potter is inferred by sales at the ticket office.
We cannot see these phenomenen except by their

effect.

Therefore Harry Potter exists.

Thats because ignorance is bliss.

They also have higher averaged incomes, make better investments and leave
more inheritance to their progeny.

They are also less educated and more likely to end up in prison compared to
an atheist. Ans more likely to kill for the sake of god.

They are also better educated

There is an old saying, education is the great killer of faith. Your claim
is *****.
.. Thomas Howells, 1927
Study of 461 students showed religiously conservative students "are, in
general, relatively inferior in intellectual ability."
2. Hilding Carlsojn, 1933
Study of 215 students showed that "there is a tendency for the more
intelligent undergraduate to be sympathetic toward. atheism."
3. Abraham Franzblau, 1934
Confirming Howells and Carlson, tested 354 Jewish children, aged 10-16.
Found a negative correlation between religiosity and IQ as measured by the
Terman intelligence test.
4. Thomas Symington, 1935
Tested 400 young people in colleges and church groups. He reported, "There
is a constant positive relation in all the groups between liberal religious
thinking and mental ability. There is also a constant positive relation
between liberal scores and intelligence."
5. Vernon Jones, 1938
Tested 381 students, concluding "a slight tendency for intelligence and
liberal attitudes to go together."
6. A. R. Gilliland, 1940
At variance with all other studies, found "little or no relationship between
intelligence and attitude toward god."
7. Donald Gragg, 1942
Reported an inverse correlation between 100 ACE freshman test scores and
Thurstone "reality of god" scores.
8. Brown and Love, 1951
At the University of Denver, tested 613 male and female students. The mean
test scores of non-believers was 119 points, and for believers it was 100.
The non-believers ranked in the 80th percentile, and believers in the 50th.
Their findings "strongly corroborate those of Howells."
9. Michael Argyle, 1958
Concluded that "although intelligent children grasp religious concepts
earlier, they are also the first to doubt the truth of religion, and
intelligent students are much less likely to accept orthodox beliefs."
10. Jeffrey Hadden, 1963
Found no correlation between intelligence and grades. This was an anomalous
finding, since GPA corresponds closely with intelligence. Other factors may
have influenced the results at the University of Wisconsin.
11. Young, Dustin and Holtzman, 1966
Average religiosity decreased as GPA rose.
12. James Trent, 1967
Polled 1400 college seniors. Found little difference, but high-ability
students in his sample group were over-represented.
13. C. Plant and E. Minium, 1967
The more intelligent students were less religious, both before entering
college and after 2 years of college.
14. Robert Wuthnow, 1978
Of 532 students, 37 percent of Christians, 58 percent of apostates, and 53
percent of non-religious scored above average on SATs.
15. Hastings and Hoge, 1967, 1974
Polled 200 college students and found no significant correlations.
16. Norman Poythress, 1975
Mean SATs for strongly antireligious (1148), moderately anti-religious
(1119), slightly antireligious (1108), and religious (1022).
17. Wiebe and Fleck, 1980
Studied 158 male and female Canadian university students. They reported
"nonreligious S's tended to be strongly intelligent" and "more intelligent
than religious S's."
and

bring stability to the communities in which they live.
They give more to
charities, are involved in more community and charitable efforts and pay
more taxes than the average person.

They give more to charities to feed the little babies born from the denial
of birth control by the church. How ironic.

These are all inferrences of course but nevertheless they are scientific
because they can be observed, measured and repeated. Therefore these
studies represent hard evidence, based upon facts determined over time
carried out by real people.

*****. The evidence is neither circumstantial or explained away by
other phenomena. Your evidence is. Don't use examples of inferred
phenomena you know nothing about.

Many studies have been undertaken in the medical and social sciences of
people who are non-believers compared to Christians. The results of these

Not true. Ever meet a Pentecostal? Their mental instability is
normalized. Besides, you're a correlator. You come up with a few
correlations you like but ignore everything else, such as the very
high rate of incarceration with more fundamentalist religers, and a
near lack of atheists.

They also have higher averaged incomes, make better investments and leave
more inheritance to their progeny. They are also better educated and
bring stability to the communities in which they live. They give more to
charities, are involved in more community and charitable efforts and pay
more taxes than the average person.

Bill Gates included, eh? Besides, atheists are more moral, we do
things that are good because we feel like it, not because God will
give us some reward for it.

These are all inferrences of course but nevertheless they are scientific
because they can be observed, measured and repeated. Therefore these

Yup, you're dumber than a bag of rocks. Pardon the brief reply, but

Yeah, and I'm sure that scientific studies in the old South showed that white
people lived longer than black people. Less chance of getting strung up on
magnolia trees, for one thing.
I'm sure you're very proud of how you manage to secure the longest lives
for yourselves, by hook or by crook or even rope.

I take it you are not familiar with studies that show that religious
belief decreases with education, that religious fundamentalists are more
likely to beat their wives and children, engage in incest, promote
prejudice, and advocate the oppression of people outside their cult?

They also have higher averaged incomes, make better investments and leave

There is no question that some religious people are sincere,
well-intentioned, and respectful. A lot of them, however, are just
plain assholes.

In a message sent 'round the world, IKnowHimDoYou poured fuel on the

LOL !!
Of course, the vast majority of these Christians are from sects other
than yours, and you have made it fairly clear that you consider them
heretics who will no doubt burn in hell.

These are all inferrences of course but nevertheless they are scientific

Mere assertion.
And even if you could support these claims, this would in no way
establish the existence of a deity.

Actually this is nonsense
The most interesting real studt was done on the dying
It was found that those tortured by fear and doubt were the Christians.
The rest approached death generally with quietness and acceptance
As to the mental stability - take jw for yor example!

Bungled is charitable. When the christapo deals with medical and social

huge heaping of appalling ignorance.
