Meet the New Christian Conquistadors
Ron Luce's Holy Warriors

Graham told the biblical story of Daniel "taming the Babylonians."
After celebrating the U.S. troops who are killing in Iraq right now, he
preached that there is "no difference between the Iraqis today and
Babylon 1,000 years ago." In the Bible Babylon is the epitome of evil
and decadence. All manner of bloodlust and plunder against it is not
just condoned but celebrated. As Psalm 137:9 spells out, even the
babies are to be dashed to death against the rocks!
While calling on the youth present to engage in this "battle for the
souls of men," he exhorts them, "No souls can be saved without the
shedding of blood. Blood must be shed!"
Mel Gibson couldn't have said it better.

Ironic, to say the least. Because even if you accept this position
for the sake of argument (that the Iraqis are the epitome of evil),
you'd have to be extremely unhappy with the conduct of the war.
You'd have to see Bush as a worthless maggot for snatching
defeat at the hands of the epitome of evil from the jaws of
victory.
Radical Islam is on the rise. Arab influence in the west (i.e.
"Power") has ballooned with the price of oil & loss of
production in Iraq. Iran, inventors of & exporters of the
Islamic Revolution, is as secure as ever -- with even their
own internal opposition rallying behind the government in
the face of international pressures.
Quite frankly, if you see Bush's middle eastern adventure
as a holy war between Christianity & Satan, then you see
a victorious Satan.

They're quite free to shed their blood.

The Biblical Babylon occurred some 2,500 years ago, not 1,000. Was
there even a Babylon 1,000 years ago? Not according to Wikipedia:

Come on, if you're going to spew hatred, at least get your dates right.
