As I was asked.
Firstly I understand evolution to be that mechanism in our and all DNA
that allows life to survive and continue to reproduce and prosper in
its environment as its environment changes slowly.
We did not evolve from todays monkeys as evolution assumes that some
long time ago we had the same ancester and we forked off to what we
have become today while the monkey became what it is today.
As we are destroying todays environment that allows the monkey to
prosper and we are destroying it faster than evolution works todays
monkeys will "die out".
Intelligent design is the irrational concept and strange belief that
man will never understand all natural concepts that allows our world to
work. It is the belief that our lack of understanding of these areas of
our world proves there is a God.
It will lead to a loss of religion and a loss of mans belief in a God
as man is everyday rolling back his ignorance of the physical world he
lives in.
Thus man is discovering the areas that Intelligent Design is using
today to prove there is a God. So tomorrow when we understand these
areas we will have no need for a God.
Intelligent design assumes that when man knows everything about how his
physical world works there will be no need for his spiritual world.
In good old Australian it is rubbish and has nothing to do with one's
belief structures.
I became aware of my God before I believed in his existance when I
studied the periodic table in Chemistry.
The table allows man to comprehend how all chemical elements exist and
how these elements create compounds and why atoms of elements and
compounds react with each other to create one or more stable
compound(s). The end result is always stability or a balance that
becomes stable until another compound is added. It is so wonderful and
so simple I believed that it must have been created by a "FORCE" that
wanted stability. That "FORCE" is my God.
Christ and many others have given us the rules for man to create
stability in our world and we are not listening.
By his very nature man knows that the world will only prosper when we
are not fighting each other.
We know what our God wants of us because our God has given it to nature
and our Old Testament is full of the reasons why we turn our back on
what our God wants of us time and time again.
The failures of Intelligent Design concepts are so obvious I fail to
understand why one would think it was required.
Like all man made concepts it has within it its own destruction.

You are well justified to reject the "God of the Gaps" philosophy
which you have (unknowingly?) described. However, the above
rationalization of God is no better, perhaps worse. If you want to
rename molecular forces, "God," be my guest. But these forces which
lead to "stability" are no more god-like than gravity encouraging
water to seek its own level. You might as well state that "GRAVITY"
is your God.
And all this belies your acceptance of Jesus Christ. Jesus taught us
nothing about chemistry. In fact, Christianity is the antithesis of
chemistry. Converting water to wine with a wave of the hand is at
best a cheap parlor trick, not chemistry.
The forces of chemistry are every bit as mindless as those of gravity.
Whether your are jumping out of a tenth story window or banging on
nitroglycerine with a hammer, the laws of physics ensure that a lower
energy state will be achieved. God will do nothing to alter the
outcome in your favor.
