Wouldn't the movie "Passion of Christ" have been thought of as much more
credible if Mel had opted to have Jesus respond with the above, instead of
"I am," when the priest asked him in front of everyone if he is the Messiah,
the Son of the living God?
It would have been more likely for skeptics to believe the movie (and the
New Testament) was accurate if Jesus responded, "That's who you say that I
am." (as it actually does in Matt:26:63-64, as well as Luke:22:70)
Come on, Mel! Of course, he knows the majority of people who would see the
movie are Christians who have no problem with him answering "I am" instead
of "That's who you say I am, nevertheless...."
The movie could have been that much better, and more accurate to what the
gospel testifies.
I'm only now watching it. Haven't finished yet.
