Michael Jackson cures boy's cancer |
One of the more bizarre twists of the Michael Jackson child prostitution
case -- which seems to be the best label for what is alleged to have gone
on -- is that one of the fairly young boys is claiming that Michael
Jackson was able to cure him of cancer.
The ironic thing is, he may very well be right. A positive mental attitude
does wonders for one's overall medical condition, and that's beyound any
reasonable dispute. Living at Jackson's fun house was something that
kept the kid happy and cheerful, something that would probably come out
in court if it ever makes it to a full trial sice the defense will be
noting that none of the boys were ever apparently unhappy with whatever
went on there.

Michael Jackson is Jesus! This used to be a secret, but now it has
been revealed. Praise God!

Laughter *MIGHT* be an anti-carcinogen but I kind of doubt it.
Malignant cells don't really care what is going on in the rest of
the body.

There is no evidence to support laughter or a positive mental attitude being
of any effect at all.
You might indeed feel better but the cancer will still kill you.

I'd expect that a positive mental attitude doesn't affect cancerous
cells directly. I'd expect that secondary complications caused by
depressed defeated attitudes don't happen. Cancer treatments of
real medical science seem to be a hit-or-miss type of thing, and it
seems to me that a lot of the recessions are accompanied by a positive
mental attitude.

Raping a child who's happy about being raped is still rape. Children
aren't allowed to decide if they want sex.

Erm, "cannot legally consent to sex," might be a better choice of
words.

I have to object to the notion that the boys were raped -- unless the
allegations of narcotics and alcohol were true. Let's see what my
horrible Christian dictionary says the contemporary usage is.
rape -- The crime of forcing another person to submit to
sex acts, especially sexual intercourse. 2. The act of
seizing and carrying off by force; abduction. 3. Abusive

Right except that there's exceptions to that. The State of Texas will
allow parents to decide whether their children should be allowed to
get married -- one of the reasons why the "David Koresh" was able to
rape children without breaking the law.

What's the youngest age at which that applies? The legal age of

That's without a parental permission. Vernon "David Koresh" Howe was
"marrying" them from age 8 upward.

In Colorado, if I recall correctly, the age of consent is 16
years. In Utah it is 16 months.

In Colorado it's 15 for a girl, 17 for a boy; in Utah it's 16 for a
boy, 18 for a girl. (I take it you were at least half joking about
Utah.)
The youngest is Iowa, with 14 for a boy and 16 for a girl. (Similar
legislation is pending in S. Carolina.)
