Object: Michael Moore: Guns Are Okay For Me, But Not For You
It looks like Spike Lee was right. Mr. Michael "Bowling for Columbine"
Moore's bodyguards do carry guns,
"Filmmaker Michael Moore's bodyguard was arrested for carrying an unlicensed
weapon in New York's JFK airport Wednesday night."
Well, well, well, could a man who believes that you don't have the "right to
bear arms" actually have a gun packing bodyguard protecting him? I guess as
far as Moore is concerned, there's one standard for all of us peons and
another standard for VILs (very important liberals) like himself.
Sure, Moore may think that "ordinary people" -- like YOU -- can't be trusted
to have a gun to defend your families. It's just too risky. Oh, but if
Michael Moore might be in danger, well that's a different matter all
together; he's special, you see, the rules that he wants to apply to the
"little people" shouldn't apply to him.
What a hypocrite.

No, it doesn't, and if I ever shoot you or threaten to shoot you

If it is in my locked house then anyone who steals it is violating the
law. If, for example, I leave my keys in my car, in my driveway, on my
private property, it does not mean that if it is stolen that I am the
criminal.

In some states it means exactly that. In many states it is illegal to
leave the keys to your car in the car.

Your irrational fears don't govern my possession of property.

No, the law does. If you don't like the laws here you're free to move
to a country that allows you to keep whatever arms you like, but in
the US your right to own firearms is limited.

Obviously not as much as you would it to be.

Inability to support your assertion by citing the laws is noted. Rather
strange for a police officer/lawyer not to be able to find the laws he
knows.
Looks like there are no such laws based on your presentation here.

That is why so many others have come to the conclusion he was never a police
officer.
There was a real police officer that came in here once, a state trooper with
more than 15 years on the force...read just ONE of his post and said he was
never a police officer.
A very good friend of mine, and one of my instructors, both lawyers..one
works with the AG, another was a prosecuting attorney in PA..both said after
just reading a few of his post, he is not a lawyer. Major reason why they
said that? Because of his immature statements. That was the primary
reason, not to mention a few things about law that he had said that were
completely wrong.

Yea, because I know of no jurisdiction which makes it a crime to leave keys

That is why so many others have come to the conclusion he was never a police
officer.

I defy you to name ONE person who has "concluded" that, you lying
horses *****.

There was a real police officer that came in here once, a state trooper with
more than 15 years on the force...read just ONE of his post and said he was
never a police officer.

LOL! Osprey actually thinks that even if that were true, which it
probably is not, that would mean something. As though some State
Trooper could look at something someone wrote and decide whether that
person was a police office.

A very good friend of mine, and one of my instructors, both lawyers..one
works with the AG, another was a prosecuting attorney in PA..both said after
just reading a few of his post, he is not a lawyer.

Look, you gutless little coward, you know nothing about lawyers.
Furthermore, I doubt a lawyer would ever associate with the likes of
you.

Major reason why they
said that? Because of his immature statements.

So your "lawyer friend" thinks lawyers are all mature. Some lawyer.

That was the primary
reason, not to mention a few things about law that he had said that were
completely wrong.

And that Osprey can't seem to replicate.
Osprey, you envy me because I was what you always wanted to be but were
denied, a police officer. I am someone you look up to, a lawyer. I
understand that. So does everyone else.
So why don't you get off that big fat ***** of yours and become a police
officer or lawyer? Have you so little ambition you can't follow your
dreams? Are you that much of a loser?
Being a police officer is EASY. APPLY.
As for being a lawyer, I love it, but I certain don't think it makes me
a person worth being envied, especially the way you seem to envy
lawyers. There are people here on this newsgroup who I feel are far
more deserving of the envy you show to lawyers than most lawyers I
know. I chop you up with a meat cleaver compared to Ray's stiletto
type carving of you, for instance. That is why you are afraid of Ray,
and James, and I.
So you go ahead. Keep kissing my *****. It does you no good.

Mighty defensive there Dav, and he does have a point. A police officer or a
lawyer are usually well able to cite the specific statute when they refer to
the law. It is after all a REQUIREMENT of their job to know the law and the
statute numbers for such offenses. Yep, despite the fact that you are

statute that supports your contention that it is illegal to leave your keys
in the car.

Minnesota, for one.

A search of the Minnesota statutes for the work "key" results in 44 hits.
NONE of which have to do with criminalizing the leaving of keys in a motor
vehicle.
Nor is there anything in Chapters 609-624 which the section dealing with
crimes and criminals.

As I have often told law students, if a lawyer were to work strictly
from memory, THAT would be malpractice. But it never fails to amaze me
how people will expect us to know every law out there with precision.
The truth is, because the laws are SO specific, and we are in the job
of arguing so many very specific issues, we look up laws that we are
familiar with every day. Cases nearly always hinge on one exact phrase
and what that means.

You idiot. Do your REALLY think lawyers have statutes memorized? ROFL!

Of course. All those books of statutes are for show. :)

As I have often told law students, if a lawyer were to work strictly
from memory, THAT would be malpractice. But it never fails to amaze me
how people will expect us to know every law out there with precision.

And yet, you can't seem to do so in this case. After all, it's something you
do every day, but you can't produce even a single statute supporting your
assertion.
