Object: [Might be off-topic] Some things I want to say
1.) What is the meaning of life without God?
2.) If I don't believe in God, what would the christian kids think of
me?
3.) There is such a thing as an ex-atheist. They say they are, and I
believe them. That settles it. (Chris Assaf is rumored to be an
ex-atheist)
4.) If God does not exist, how did Chris Assaf's prayers get answered?
5.) Don't flame Jesus, flame me and dedicate a flame group to me.
6.) Oh, and originally, the passion movie was supposed to be about
Chris Assaf

That is, a theist notices when something similar to what he prayed for
occurs, but when he prays and receives nothing like what he asks for, he
either doesn't notice it, assumes that he hasn't waited long enough, or
decides that "it wasn't God's will". Simple statistical probability
dictates that he will at least occasionally receive what he asks for, as
long as his requests aren't too terribly unlikely. Haven't you noticed
that nobody ever moves a mountain by praying?

God does not work like that anymore.

No. Yahweh retired about 2.5 god-years ago. Now he shares a room (with
his old mate Baal) in the Olympus Monitored Care Facility. Every morning
am under-paid, under-qualified teenage 'geriatric care nurse' performs a
'manual extraction' on the Ancient of Days' bunged-up arsehole; something
He rather enjoys despite the rain of expletives He spits throughout the
process.

Also, even if the mountain moved, you would not believe. That goes for most of you.

Of course not. Unless you could make a convincing case for a causal
connection between your magical ritual and the movement of the mountain
(relative to it's surrounding landscape, rather than say, the moon).
Anything else would be superstition at worst and laziness at best.

Uh huh. So that's your explanation for why you can't pray and have one
moved while we watch eh?

Damn right. I've seen St.Helen's move hundreds of times in the last few

Oh? Then provide your explanation of answered prayers.

What explanation is needed? It is a proven fact that when you want to
find evidence for your beliefs, you will notice those cases that confirm
it and ignore those that contradict it. This is why even the most
impartial and objective of scientists must carefully design his

evidence for what he doesn't wish to be true, regardless of the actual

I've also known some "believers" to be BS artists who will say and do
almost anything to try and "convert" you to their particular cult, because
they wanted followers, sex, and MONEY! It pays to be skeptical where BS
artists abound.

You should take the time to listen to their testimonies on what made

I have listened to lots of "christian testimonies" of varying types, and
I've found that:
Some are delusional.
Some are extremely gullible.
Some are so desparate to believe that they'll ignore any contrary evidence.
Some simply parrot what they've been told
Some are manipulating weasels.
And the rest are too timid to question or challenge the status quo.
Any respect I give to "christians" is for accomplishments outside their
superstitions.
