Minimum Requirements for Worship? |
We know the traditional argument for atheism - why believe in a God
that you can't prove his existence of. But, what if I were God? I
mean, the question is, what does somebody have to do to actually be a
God? What sort of feat would I have to accomplish for you all to
worship me, and, more importantly to start giving my designated
acolytes all of your money.
Would it be prophecy? If I made a set of seemingly impossible
predictions, and they came true, would that work?
Would it be a miracle? Sick, tired, if I, say, came up with a cure
for cancer, or invented nuclear fusion in my basement, and showed you
how to do it, does that make me a God, or, does my nuclear fusion have
to be something that is impossible for you to reproduce, in which
case, you can't prove that my miracle happened!
Ancient Roman Dictators declared themselves to be God all the time.
What if George Bush declared himself to be a God, and replaced all the
crosses in the country with a big picture of him riding around in a
tractor? What would He have to do for you to Worship him?
Could a computer program be a God?

contact with anyone running Reality.
--SaladBar: on. This allows the user to pick & choose which instructions
they will follow from HolyBook while claiming their version of HolyBook
is the only correct one.
--Shame: flexible; allows user to commit crimes without compunction, yet
feel ashamed for masturbating.
OPTIONAL Packs include all of the above:
Creationist--"Young Earth" and "Old Earth" variants. Requires
"Fundamentalist" package.
Fundamentalist (stand-alone)--bombs not included! Hate everyone!
Pyramidiot--now you can be just like georgann!
Ranting Idiot--be like Earl Weber!
Phobosexual--This pack lets the user choose any combination of sexual
parameters; for example:
--turn-ons male/female (age is user-selectable); human/animal (user-
selectable from many species).

A being could be the most powerful, awesome, terrifying creature in
existence but that would not mean it deserves to be worshipped. If any
theist could prove his deity existed, we would then have to debate
worshipping it.
