There could be few more silently poetic ironies than this, eh? :-)
Agreeing completely with the writer's opinion, she is the _essence_ of
what the church has embodied for *millenia*. I see no reason why she
shouldn't earn their highest honors. I'd gleefully wipe my arse with
their highest honor, of course, but sincerely believe that 'Mother
Teresa' deserves it just the same. :-)

Now that you put it that way... The idea that Mother Teresa is somehow a
saint amused me a bit. But if you consider the grand scheme of RCC
virtues, I guess you could consider her virtuous.
What chaps my butt is the celebration of Fr. Serra. He was the one in
charge of establishing the California missions. I suppose enslaving
native peoples is virtuous. This guy is on the way to sainthood also.
