It isn't reasonable at all! It's society as a whole, not just women, that
sees the sense in looking after children. As Winston Churchill said, "There
is no finer investment for any community than putting milk into babies."
Take away maternity leave, social security, free schooling, medical care and
nursery places and the birth-rate would plummet and the abortion rate soar,
and then there would be a population crisis. In the 1950s France had a bit
of a population crisis and they very sensibly introduced financial
inducements to couples to have children, and that's what the pro-life
movement should be doing if they're so hell-bent on reducing the abortion
rate. Society should go down on its knees to thank women for going through
hell to bring the next generation into the world instead of treating them as
simpletons who don't know how to avoid pregnancy, and murderers if they're
not willing to carry to term.

However one of the consequences of becoming pregnant is that the
pregnancy terminates without producing a child. The other is that it
terminates producing a child.
Both are common consequences of pregnancy. As long as the woman accepts
that at least one of those consequences will occur should she become
pregnant then there is no problem in that respect; she will be
acceopting the consequences of her part (whether voluntary or not) in
the actions which led to the pregnancy in the first place.
