More Evidence Favoring Evolution |
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/3161336.stm
reveals that tortoises have effectively "recorded" a volcanic eruption
in their DNA! This supports both aspects of evolution and the Earth
being considerably older than 6,000 years.

While I appreciated the article, I don't see how it supports the TOE. Don't
get me wrong, I think that evolution is a proven fact. However, this
article describes a loss of diversity within a species. It does not say
anything about speciation, which of course, is what the TOE attempts to
explain. An increase of\r decrease of alelle frequency can have an impact
on the ability of a given gene pool to favor or disfavor mutation, but this
article does not describe or provide evidence of any such phenomena.

Of course the creationists will try to find some way of weaseling out
of that one too.
Creationist: " Uh, the extinction event was the...uh...flood, and
....uh...maybe DNA mutated a lot faster back then...uh, just like the
speed of light changed." so we can see objects more than 6,000 light
years away. Yeah, thats it!" <tries to hide behind bible>
