BACARDI has become the latest drinks giant to pump a fortune into the
Scotch whisky industry, promising to invest at least $250 million
(£123m) into Dewar's over the next decade.
The world's largest privately-owned drinks company, Bacardi said the
two-part project would initially increase its blending, packing and
bottling operations at its existing site in Parkhead in Glasgow.
Bacardi is also seeking a site of around 100 acres in central
Scotland, where it will develop a second maturation and blending
facility, which could eventually triple Dewar's total production
capacity
