SAVANNAH, Mo. (AP) - A children's book about two male penguins that
raise a baby penguin has been moved to the nonfiction section of two
public library branches after parents complained it had homosexual
undertones.
The illustrated book, ``And Tango Makes Three,'' is based on a true
story of two male penguins, named Roy and Silo, who adopted an abandoned
egg at New York City's Central Park Zoo in the late 1990s.
The book, written by Peter Parnell and Justin Richardson, was moved from
the children's section at two Rolling Hills' Consolidated Library's
branches in Savannah and St. Joseph in northwest Missouri.
Two parents had expressed concerns about the book last month.
Barbara Read, the Rolling Hills' director, said experts report that
adoptions aren't unusual in the penguin world. However, moving the book
to the nonfiction section would decrease the chance that it would
``blindside'' readers, she said.

You know, I used to have finches. I want to again but the bird flu scare
has me hesitating (one thing I know they'll do in a bird flu panic is kill
pet birds left and right). But I had two male Societies that took over a
nest, sat the eggs, hatched the kids, fed them, raised them, you name it.
This kind of thing happens in nature a hell of lot more than the
christbots want to contemplate...

I wonder if we should propose a "God Theory" or "Jesus Theory" or "Allah
Theory"? That way we have everyone on the same page so to speak. There is
only one problem and that is how to make it sound "Politically Correct". If

Were they "romantic", though? And why are you afraid of birdflu? Are
they going to fly wild?
I'm kinda worried about my pet bird and the bird flu too. Well not the
bird flu, the government, as you say... who would probably kill him.
But as they are pets, I think we humans are the greater threats. The
bird virus transferred to a cat in germany. So if they were going to
be consistent they'd have to kill all animals, which is just not
feasable, but something I believe they WOULD do during a pandemic.

There is nothing below that relates to homosexuality and nothing that
you can do can change that. Women were treated as property back then
and for men to treat other men as property is an abomoniation.

I love how it was fundy idiots who started this by touting "March of the
Penguins" as promoting traditional marriage. Of course, people who
studied penguins knew that these were not exclusively monagamous or life
long or heterosexual bonds. It's common for same-sex groups of male
penguins and groups of female penguins take turns raising the children.
