Could someone confirm that most of the places that were destroyed were
tourist pleasure coasts?
If that was the case could this be an action taken by an Angel of the Lord?

The earthquake took place off the coast of Aceh, one of the most
strongly religious places in Southeast Asia. It's a Muslim stronghold.
Just south of Aceh - North Sumatra - is a mix of Christian and Muslim
peoples, most of whom are very religious. (I once met a man there who
said that the Dutch were expelled from Indonesia "because we pray".)
Tsunamis affect coastal areas, so naturally a lot of beach resorts were
affected. The vast majority of these beach resorts - by a longshot -
are family resorts. They're places where people go on their honeymoons,
places tourists go to relax, places locals bring friends and families.
Any deity who would cause such deaths would be anti-family.
It's interesting that the earthquake took place off the coast of one of
the most devoutly religious provinces in Southeast Asia - Aceh.
So, if we assume that God caused this (or failed to pevent this), and
was doing it because of a righteous hatred of "decadence", then he
acted with the same motivation as Osama bin Laden. If so, then God
killed over 7 times the number of people as Osama bin Laden killed on
September 11, 2001. The Bush Administration believes God exists, so why
doesn't he extend his war on terror to fight the greatest terrorist of
all - God?

So, if we assume that God caused this (or failed to pevent this), and
was doing it because of a righteous hatred of "decadence", then he
acted with the same motivation as Osama bin Laden. If so, then God
killed over 7 times the number of people as Osama bin Laden killed on
September 11, 2001. The Bush Administration believes God exists, so why
doesn't he extend his war on terror to fight the greatest terrorist of
all - God?
But if that was the case, God must have wanted to take out the Buddhists
, Hindus and Christians also. It looks like it was equal opportunity
mission.
But since we know that it was an natural actions, God wasn't involved.
Had there been no known explanation, then we could speculation on
superstitions.

And a nice concrete multistory hotel to retreat to. a 'luxury' the
local inhabitants did not have.

have no problem with capitalist. My problem is with people who claim
goddidit for disasters and then try to justify their god's nasty

Some were vacation spots, but many more were in poor coastal areas.
