It's perfectly simple. The title of the piece -- drafted by a loon who
wouldn't know basic journalistic practices if you bashed them over her
head -- is *proven* a fiction -- yet another of the author's many lies
-- by the simple fact that there are MoveOn members in the military.

*****-poor analogy (even as the conclusion rings true to this
disenfranchised Democrat).
The accusation is that MoveOn "doesn't know what US troops look like."
It is not based on fact, and likely not even on the actual opinion of
the author. I mentioned that there are members of the organization who
*are* troops. I can add that there are *pictures* and *video* clips of
actual US soldiers prominently displayed on their Web site. For
example, here at https://pol.moveon.org//baird/
I didn't think I needed to hold your hand through this; it seemed fairly

mudslinging by someone who has no further ambition than to preach to the

Another fine journalist known for her diligence and
integrity.
Another fine ad-hominem from the left.
Right on cue, and true to pattern.
The *title* of the cited piece is a not-so-fine ad-hominem
from the right.
The title of the piece is the unvarnished truth.
It's a varnished fiction, a deliberate exaggeration. There are
U.S. troops who are *members* of MoveOn, so...
So what?
Do I need to hold your hand?
(I apparently do.)
There are U.S. troops who are members of MoveOn, so the title of
the piece is a fiction.
Again, so what?
So you are incorrect when you say the title is the unvarnished truth.
There are Democrats who support the war in Iraq. Therefore the
Democratic Party supports the war in Iraq.
*****-poor analogy (even as the conclusion rings true to this
disenfranchised Democrat).
The accusation is that MoveOn "doesn't know what US troops look like."
It is not based on fact, and likely not even on the actual opinion of
the author. I mentioned that there are members of the organization
who *are* troops. I can add that there are *pictures* and *video*
clips of actual US soldiers prominently displayed on their Web site.
For example, here at https://pol.moveon.org//baird/
And there is one very prominently displayed picture of *British* troops
that is captioned as if they're Americans.
Ooooh, call the attorney general! Someone needs to go to jail!
(Just make sure that only those who post Web content on one side of the
issue be held accountable, or else Malkin, et al. will have none of it.
Not to worry, the Justice Department has been, er, massaged just right
to ensure this.)
First off, I'm not sure what your definition of "prominently displayed"
is. I think you *want* it to mean what it doesn't.
Second, the picture itself was not being presented as evidence of
anything in controversy, but as background imagery, context. It's an
agreed-upon fact that US troops are in Iraq, and that they have been
there for years. There's also no dispute that sometimes they hang
around tables. I won't try to read the mind of the art/publicity
department of MoveOn to discern why this photo was used. That's
apparently Malkin's (and your) department.
That so much of Malkin's (and your) energy is devoted to this "issue" is
unsurprising. The general public by and large currently sees the US as
'bogged down' in Iraq. That being the case, Malkin cannot attack that
issue head on, lest she be marginalized (further than she already is) to
her financial detriment.
Therefore she must hunt down (or manufacture) small "controversies" and
try to make them grow. Doing that, she can hope to discredit those in
the media (old and/or new) who are saying that the US is 'bogged down'
in Iraq, and then, by association try to make people believe that this
is not true, the facts notwithstanding.
I call it the Fred Stone Approach.
I didn't think I needed to hold your hand through this; it seemed
fairly obvious that the author's title was not meant to be anything
more than mudslinging by someone who has no further ambition than to
preach to the choir.
I don't have to sling mud when the MorOn.organisms wallow in it.
I see no mud in this, other than that being slung by Malkin. She's the
kind of extremist that has no problem liberally tossing out ad hominem
attacks. Maybe that's why you like her.
Boy, that was easy.
Not when you get caught.
As you have.
I haven't been 'caught' doing anything. MoveOn has *real* US troops
speaking out about the issues on their Web site, proving that MoveOn
*does* know what they look like; and Malkin plays a childish version of
the game of 'gotcha' with a photo of no inherent consequence.
So, while chasing little dandelion puffs of "controversy," she fails to
disprove that the US is 'bogged down' in Iraq.

Freddy, little Michelle is a bit confused. The ad is abject
propaganda, not journalism. If they flash the wrong picture, so what?
It's not exactly like they're trying to lie us into a war, is it?
