Object: My Favorite Christian Quote
This came from a Xian friend of mine, who after a very, very lengthy
debate on the veracity of the bible in it's claims about the creation
of the Earth and who after trying every one of the standard arguments
for biblical truth and failing in spectacular fashion, finally offered
this ultimatum:
"Well, I don't care if it isn't true, I'm still going to believe it."
I guess that's what it all comes down to in the end. I give up.

You could apply the same quote (well, opposite) above to evolution and
climate change doubters too.

I'm not so sure. I don't think any reasonable person ever claimed
that they would believe something if they knew it wasn't true.
Sometimes, you might pretend to believe, for example, that Edward
Scissorhands was like the "best movie ever" because Veronica liked it
so much that she was about to take her bra off, but deep down inside
you still know that the "The Shawshank Redemption" is better.

Who said anything about reasonable?

Yoy have to give them credit for finally telling the truth, though.

Reminds me of the guy who posted that God is so powerful that, even if
he didn't exist, he could save us.

This reminds me of the logical proof of God's Non-existence:
1. God created the entire universe.
2. God is that greater than which nothing can be conceived.
3. A god who could create the entire universe is pretty great, but
4. A god who could create the entire universe under a handicap is
even greater.
5. A god who could create the entire universe while blindfolded, with
one hand tied behind his back, with country and western music blaring
in the background and a rottweiler chewing on his genitals is greater
than a god who could merely create the universe without handicaps.
6. The greatest handicap, of course, is not existing.
7 The god who created the universe despite the handicap of not
existing is that greater than which nothing can be conceived.
8. Ergo, God doesn't exist.
Now what's wrong with that logic?

It's perfect Christian logic. How could they possibly not accept it?
