I'm not diabetic, but here's the deal: water - lots of water, bananas,
fruit juice. And stress management.

Careful, most fruit juice is nothing more than liquid candy.

To many diabetics, the difference between fructose and sucrose is the
difference between a normal glucose level and an elevated glucose
level.

That's exactly what you asked - the difference between the two to the
body. To the body of a diabetic it often makes a difference between
an elevated glucose level and a glucose level that doesn't get
elevated.

nice attempt at dodging your failure to answer the question:
what is the difference between fructose and sucrose to the human body?
for bonus points, what are the draw backs to using fructose as a sweetener,
especially for diabetics?
it's okay to say you don't know, which is what i've already deduced, but in
layman's terms please explain what, if any, chemical difference there is to the
human metabolism. unsubstantiated vague general claims do not count as an
answer.

nice attempt at dodging your failure to answer the question:
what is the difference between fructose and sucrose to the human body?

To the non-diabetic, no functional difference. To the diabetic body,
sucrose sometimes raises the glucose level in the blood while fructose
doesn't.
If you don't understand how that answers your question, you shouldn't
be posting to adult news groups.
If you do, you're a troll.

for bonus points, what are the draw backs to using fructose as a sweetener,

A AM a diabetic, fruitcake, so I know a little about being one.
In any case, I'm through with your nonsense.

Cho-Free (a soy formula) is loaded with vitamins and minerals and has
no carbs, sugar or otherwise. Whether anyone would want to drink it
is another matter.
There are probably other sugar-free "electrolyte" drinks, but I don't

The salt restriction is a relative thing. If you are losing more salt
than usual, due to sweating in the summer heat, you will be obliged to
take in a little more than usual to offset that loss.
I'm not up on the latest in hypertension management, but it seems that
salt restriction is probably not as important as it was before ACE
inhibitors, beta-blockers, etc, became available.

Get sick in hot weather, Gatorade et al solve the problem with a lot

How do I replace electrolytes in summer heat?

Thanks much

That will FURTHER dilute the electrolyte balance (water is a
diuretic). A good way to go right into shock and, quickly, death.

plain mineral water......
redc1c4,
water is *not* a diuretic, since diuretics cause the body to loose water. %-)

Doesn't have the minerals you lose through intense perspiration in the
proper ratios.

Drinking water DOES cause the body to lose water. Stop making
yourself sound ignorant.
