My Free iPod |
Just becaus I'm a good guy, I decide to take ol' Glenn and zyklon up on
their offer of a free ipod.
4:29AM - launch http://www.freeipods.com - I removed the referral link,
just to be annoying.
4:30AM - I sign up with my yahoo account and am "Almost Done", so I click
on to step 2.
4:30AM - I now fill out my name (fake) address (work) and phone number (my
jconnect internetn number 801 881-7050 in case anyone's curious.)
4:33 - I now have to fill out only one offer to get my free iPod. I could
sign up for a Visa/Mastercard, get DVD's, get Blockbuster Online, or MP3
Audiobooks. I'll try the mastercard, since I don't have one of those.
4:37 - still waiting for the page to load...
4:41 - filled out the credit app (using an "alternate" SSN that
"accidently" got created for me some years ago). and am waiting for my free
iPod...
4:48 - MBNA has completed their processing of my application but I still
have no free ipod...
Okay, let's say it all together SCAM!!
There now let's move on to something really important like hampsters.

under the category of "too good to be true", eh?
